I was thinking exactly the same thing, I think he probably will as his ball was certainly a key contribution, splitting the last line of defence to allow Saha to pull back the cross. However, in the past we've seen them not given and at other times given. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.snowy wrote:what time does TTFO update? (want to know if ronaldo got a KC for the 3rd goal)

From TFFO daily pointsBramernic wrote:Aston Villa 2-1 Reading
Doyle (Ki Hyeon)
Angel (Moore)
Barry (Whittingham)
Blackburn 1-1 Everton
McCarthy (-)
Cahill (McFadden) I don't think Johnson actually touched it after seeing Cahill was in a much better position
Charlton 0-3 Man United
Fletcher (-)
Saha (-)
Solskjaer (Saha, poss Ronaldo*)
Fulham 1-1 Bolton
Diouf (-)
Bullard (-)
Man City 0-0 Portsmouth
Middlesbrough 2-1 Chelsea
Shevchenko (Essien, Bridge)
Pogatetz (Rochemback)
Viduka (Yakubu) I'm sure the deflection must be too great for a Downing KC
* This looks similar to the Reading goal on Saturday where only one KC was given, but again it clearly split the defence between Rodaldo and Saha. Also it is Man United we're talking about.
Johnson - no assist
Ronaldo - Assist
Downing - assist

Can't say I'm suprised although I wouldn't have exactly been livid if Downing hadnt got a KC. Yakubu's touch certainly significantly changed the direction of the ball but it didn't seem deliberate so I do think the choice was either 2 KCs or none.Bramernic wrote:All as predicted, including Ronaldo and Essien, plus a bonus for Downing as well.snowy wrote:what time does TTFO update? Did anyone else see the Everton match and think that McCarthy has just received 8 points for a goal?
I'm really starting to believe that if the game's not on Sky then the reporters don't bother going and just pick one of the goalscorers. There were many far more inportant players than McCarthy on the night. Aside from his goal he did nothing exceptional.
Bullshit.

Watched the Arsenal game...
IMO Fabregas or Dickov will get MOM for the Arsenal game.
Agree about the Sinclair KC, he wasn't on the ball, very stupid challenge.
What a disaster weekend, not a single goal or KC in either of my 3 teams so far.
Have Pedersen and a couple of the usual Chelsea players to go tomorrow.

Hope you are right about Fabregas dilwar.
Depending on the results tomorrow it may turn out to be Ok as none of my teams have a had a complete disaster. Blackburn Chelsea game could yield a lot of points in low score week so could have a big impact.
Got Barton in a couple of teams and Saha is keeping things ticking over.
Sharner picked up some points today - got him in a couple of teams.
Putting a brave face on things!

Thanks to Judio, Bramernic and thelip for diligently posting team news, subs, goals, KCs & man/match facts and opinions here and in sister thread:

To speculate on man/match theories further, these are The Observer's views re: Saturday's seven games.
Charlton 2-0 Bolton
Darren Bent - Saviour for Charlton. Steady supplier of goals without any fuss. Cool head enabled him to convert vital penalty in make-or-break match and secure the points with a second.
Fulham 1-0 Shef Utd
Jimmy Bullard - New Fulham hero, with Malbranque on way out. Buzzing presence in the middle, topping his play with a superb goal.
Liverpool 2-1 W Ham
Steven Gerrard - Metronomic consistency. Drove home side on when they lacked self-belief, tackled back when needed most and peppered West Ham goal with shots when attacking options dried up. One Liverpool player for whom squad rotation will not be an issue.
Man C 1-0 Arsenal
Richard Dunne - Formed useful defensive partnership with Sylvain Distin in City's desperate efforts to hang on to three invaluable points.
Spurs 0-2 Everton
Mikel Arteta - His free-kick created first goal. Menace at set pieces and source of most of Everton's rare creative moments. Even when tackles are flying in he does not withdraw from game. Coped well when asked to switch roles after Kilbane's sending off.
Watford 1-2 Man U
Ryan Giggs - Celebrated 600th start in United colours with a winning goal wrought out of his intelligent reading of the game as much as his ability to make it count. Mature passing and movement stood out.
Wigan 1-0 Reading
Antonio Valencia - Wigan's new midfielder from Ecuador showed potential to become crowd favourite. He got from end to end well, bringing a fine save in the first half and getting back to block a shot at the end.
Are there worthwhile offers from other Sunday papers?

That, and the fact that he didn't really split the defence. Generally speaking the middle player in a 2-KC move should either cross the ball immediately or take just one touch to control it, otherwise the first pass can't be seen as key to the goal being scored.TheJaw wrote:For future reference why didn't Gerrard get an assist as well? Is it because Garcia had multiple touches?Bramernic wrote: Liverpool 2-1 West Ham

IMPORTANT NOTE
Just in case there is any doubt, I am not on the panel of KC judges and their decisions have either yet to be made, or are yet to be made public. Therefore it is unlikely that Gerrard will get one, but we can't say he didn't get one until TFFO updates tomorrow. Likewise, the Scharner KC is a distinct possibility, but don't quote it as definite until the post says confirmed by TFFO. Thanks.

Gerrard had an excellent game, but anyone who was actually watching the game and didn't give MOM to John Pantisil (or something like that), has poor eysight.SamD wrote:The Observer's views re: Saturday's seven games.

I would like Scharner to get one, but I can see both these KCs being harshly ruled out by the defenders slight touch (especially considering the two Reading ones that weren't given last week).Bramernic wrote:My view of todays likely KCs after watching MOTD:
