I'm with you on this mad dog. For the first time ever, I'll be concentrating more on Dream Team than a Telegraph game.

Was hoping Sky would run a game but with them not having rights to show the games, I suspect they won't.

mad dog wrote: 19 May 2018, 07:43 So the current deal 8 teams for £20 don’t they normally do some sort of early bird offer or is this it?

2018/19 Season Ticket seems the way to go. 11 teams for £9.99 if I've read it correctly. That'll do me.

TFF Season Ticket
Telegraph Fantasy Football managers can play the World Cup edition of the game free of charge against friends and colleagues.

However, if you’d also like to compete against managers up and down the country for a share of more than £25,000 in prize money, you’ll need to buy a 2018/19 TFF Season Ticket.

There are two 2018/19 Season Ticket options:

(1) 2018/19 Season Ticket - £4.99

EARLY BIRD OFFER: 4 extra teams (£1.25 per team)
FROM JUNE 5: 2 extra teams (£2.50 per team)

(2) 2018/19 Season Ticket EXTRA - £9.99

EARLY BIRD OFFER: 10 extra teams (£1.00 per team)
FROM JUNE 5: 5 extra teams (£2.00 per team)
Your additional team credits can be used during this summer’s World Cup game or carried over and used within any of the Telegraph’s Fantasy Football games during the 2018/19 season, including our separate Premier League, Championship and Champions League games.

Need more teams?

Once you've purchased your 2018/19 Season Ticket you can then buy as many additional teams as you like:

Individual teams: £5
3 team credits for £10
8 team credits for £20

The £9.99 offer is obviously the way to go but a bit of a dubious way of them doing it.

All of this season it has been purchase credits and you can use them for the world cup, but effectively you can't unless you purchase for next year apart from the free team.

Is this why I can't pick a team as I have 2 credits left,do I need to use them on the cup final, then purchase the 18/19 package (the option isnt there now) :?

Yeah sky aren’t doing one which is a shame. I’ll do a few tff teams but I won’t be spending much time on it.

Mine's done :D

Courtois Belgium 3.6
Meunier Belgium 3.7
Kimmich Germany 4.1
Kolarov Serbia 3.7
Godin Uruguay 3.9
Isco Spain 4.9
Ziyech Morocco 4.5
Ml Savic Serbia 2.5
Smolov Russia 3.7
Cavani Uruguay 6
Suarez Uruguay 6.2

At the end of game 2, i'll have done 17 transfers and the team will look like :-

Courtois Belgium 3.6
Meunier Belgium 3.7
Kimmich Germany 4.1
Kolarov Serbia 3.7
Godin Uruguay 3.9
Muller Germany 5.4
Rodriguez Columbia 5
Ml Savic Serbia 2.5
Smolov Russia 3.7
Lew Pol 6.2
Kane England 6.2

How many of those play in game 3 might then become an issue.

There's only 6 of the starting 11 i'm happy with. 5 of them might get changed. Ideally looking for 1 cheap defender to give me more movement on my transfers. Alexander Arnold is the only one that sticks out so far but will he play? 4% already gone for Calvo from Costa Rica, will have to check out why he's popular.

The only incentive to finish the group stage with a few players attractive for inclusion in the knock out phase is that it can reduce your transfer workload.

I'm pretty sure if you bought a season ticket for the premier league you can't buy another one now - which is clearly bonkers. Can't see many people buying teams at twice the price.

Maldini's post above suggests they're viewing this as the kick off to the 2018/19 season:

2) 2018/19 Season Ticket EXTRA - £9.99

EARLY BIRD OFFER: 10 extra teams (£1.00 per team)
FROM JUNE 5: 5 extra teams (£2.00 per team)
Your additional team credits can be used during this summer’s World Cup game or carried over and used within any of the Telegraph’s Fantasy Football games during the 2018/19 season, including our separate Premier League, Championship and Champions League games.

Clearly states on their website we can buy a 2018/19 season ticket to use for the world cup and or other games in the 2018/19 season.

Obviously slow on updating their system.......or trying to rip the impatient people off.

TFF World Cup 2018

I asked them on Facebook where the option was and they’ve come back with ‘Did you have a 2017/18 season ticket?’

Suggests that you can’t have both which is nonsense because I can’t win any prizes as they’re for season ticket holders only.

So they want you to buy extra credits on your 2017/18 season ticket. However, I asked the same, got that question and when I said "yes" got the following:

Telegraph Fantasy HQ Thanks Andrew - that season ticket will expire after the World Cup and then you can get the same deal again for 2018/19 - but we're looking into whether or not we can open up early season ticket renewals for people in your situation.

Wouldn't have occurred to me to save extra credits for a post-season tournament.
