Makes up for a terrible overall effort
Yeah, I've got 2 of my 6 into the finals, that's my only focus now.

...and I notice there are teams from a certain Rossn13 in two of the finals that I didn't reach

Well done both of you. I managed 1 out of 6 in a £5 tournament. Gutted because it was not picking Giroud against Iceland that has done me over. I thought Germany would win the semi so didn't want to spoil a transfer by bringing him in.

Have since realised you really to need to do what you can in each round unless it's a huge points gap or its fruitless. Regrets. Ah well.

I've got 2 transfers left for tonight and have already 4 por and 2 French (payet/griezeman). Not sure whether to go for loris and a def or Giroud (again). Puzzled

buttonphobic wrote:Currently four above me in my league. Got three transfers left. the teams above have French defencive blocks, I don't have any French defenders but have Griesman, Payet,Ronaldo and Nani, which I think they have as well. Only a few points in it!!!!!
I.think using my transfers on French defenders won't enable me to go above those ahead of me.
Therefore I think the only way is to make transfers in hope Portugal score.
But who to bring in? Thinking about 3 of the following
Giroud, pogba, Loris or Potugals keeper(for pen saves if goes to pen shootout) Sanches,Quaresma.
Any suggestions chaps would be appreciated
Now thinking its pointless using my three transfers on Portuguese players as I'm sure France will win. Thinking to go for safe - pogba,Giroud and Loris and hope France let one in and allows for a Loris pen save

I was in (joint) third but I had basically the whole French team, that late goal was a killer

Don't think I could have caught top spot anyway could I?

please say 'no' whatever

Thanks. The clean sheet wouldn't have been enough on its own then, that's some consolation. I finished 5th in the end which was an annoying prize drop - 300 less that 4th but exactly the same as 6th :?

Anyway, congratulations, well played 8-)

I got 6th with Nani, Ronaldo and the French starters except Sissoko and Matuidi. Expected to go down from 8th so happy with that. Well done to all the prize winners.

Congrats to the winners on here.

My two remaining teams in the tournaments both won their final - I make it £64 in prize money from the £21 tournament entry fees, so a nice little profit :D

congrats to the winners

a few bad decisions plus some terrible luck saw me fall back, think I still managed my highest finish in a TFF game so thats a positive I suppose. Now to translate that season long into the main game

Congrats Merlins Appentice, that got to be better than winning the Torin league :D

Also congrats to the other fiso winners.

Somehow managed to squeeze top spot in the Portuguese lge myself. Amazing, as my team consisted of 9 French and only Ronny & Nani from Portugal. Thought I had no chance.

Roll on the new season. :)

I did for a couple of seasons, Merlin used to send me updates if I remember rightly. Is it still going ?

just did a search on my computer for Torin and found some word docs from 2003/04 !! can't believe it was 12 years ago.

Well done all - I had 10 teams and came no where in any of the Country Leagues, Overall game or even my own private money league - I often shake my head and ask how FISO'ers do it... and I see the same surnames often so it's not luck but skill - alas a skill I don't seem to have as been playing fantasy football games now for money for well over a decade. I thought perhaps it was a skill you could learn but maybe like maths you either have it or you don't to a high level and no matter how hard you try you just won't master the subtleties you need to win consistently. Maybe a lot more planning needs to go into games than the winging it ad hoc I do as I go along. However it's fun so I'll dust off and jump into the TFF Premier League game when it launches - 8-) loses me far less beer tokens than online betting does... Christ I got killed by he end of the Euros - massive losses.
