The Gameweek 31 Transfer Debate.

Post by Flyman »

Once again, it is time to discuss our change(s).
Please make any propositions below.
I'll set up the poll on Wednesday evening to run until Friday midnight.

Our team is here.

The good news is that in 5 weeks we've moved from 122000th(ish) to 61000th(ish)! :D
A strong finish for La Pubby - and we still have that Wildcard!!!

Go La Republica! Go!

gw31 transfers

Post by grob »

To set the debate rolling,I was going to propose we sell one of the 2 Blackburn players, Bentley or McCarthy and buy an Arsenal replacement, either GILBERTO or ADEBAYOR instead, with the double GW34 in sight. Also,Arsenal play in GW33. But after checking the bank balance,we can't afford either move, so back to the drawing board !

Apart from ARSENAL,the only other team playing in GW33,and with a double GW34,is MAN CITY,so I don't think it's the time to sell IRELAND.

As I can't see a case for selling any of our other players,I'm going to propose that we do nothing this week, except drop BENTLEY to our bench,as he's suspended this week.

We'll just have to take a hit in GW33,and average out GW33 & GW34.

That is unless anyone comes up with a brilliant game week plan,of course.

It seems a pity not to use our free transfer though,so one alternative to doing nothing this week would be to sell CARVALHO,(7.2)buy ASHLEY COLE(6.7) & bank 0.5m to possibly upgrade IRELAND at a later date ?

So,that's 2 alternative proposals for the price of one from me !

Dimitar Bebatov has a very patchy set of gameweeks coming up - RDG(h) this week looks nice but then it's CHE(a), blank, WIG(a), ARS(h), MID(a). I propose we swap him for Arsenal's sole, fit out-and-out striker, Emmanuel Adebayor. Their prices are 0.1m apart. Unfortunatley he plays LIV(a) this week so I will put this forward as a proper proposal next week.

I agree with grob that there's not much we can do this week. I may indeed vote for his "no change" option.

I will however put forward McCarthy  Mpenza (MC) as an option and a bit of a gamble as well. City do have some nice fixtures around the double (LIV & ARS unfortunately) and he should have a run in the team since his strike rate is about 100 times better than any of City's other forwards. It would give us 1 more on the pitch in GW33. He is quite possibly a CK but he may be worth the risk.

Anyone else like the cut of Fernandes's jib?
EV have a nice wee run ahead - AV/FU/CA/WH - and don't miss a gameweek.

Bentley (6.4) -> Fernandes (5.8) = 0.6 in the bank.

That is my sole proposal for this week's tranfer.

Poll will begin tonight. Last orders, please. :D

Bentley  Young (AVL)

Villa have a nice run to the end of the season too, and we already have two EVE players including Arteta.

This is for Villa's Young  :P

Got my vote as need to shift at least one of the Rover's lads out for GW33. McCarthy might be worth hanging onto with Watford, Fulham, Charlton on the immediate horizon.

Villa's form hasn't been great although Barry has expressed some resolve to finish the season strongly. Can't describe their run in as easy but there are some winable fuxtures along the way. NB he's on the cusp of a drop ...

 I'm tired and emotional. Was shifting bridge out of my own team and young (cha) was one of the options at the time. Fantasy team dyselxia. But having reviewed the voting options i would still go for bentley -> ashley young so my vote retains its validty. . . cough. . . anyone for a nightcap

So, Young wins and replaces Bentley.

The People have spoken (even if they are slurring somewhat  !)
