Mr TSO Sir... Do I need to make my last January transfer today, or can it be made by the normal deadline this week? ie. Friday 7.45pm

(Actually no game until 12.30 Saturday, so not sure when the dealine is....?)

My own view would be that the weekly deadline can be Saturday as there is no match 'til then but I would be surprised if TSO allowed you the luxury of doing the January transfer in February. :)

I thought that would be the case - just wanted to know how much time I had to sort my last Jan one out. Then, when I got home from work last night I was too knackered to turn the PC on and missed the chance anyway....

Never mind - it was goin to be a bit of a gamble on an injured player. Now I can wait and see if he plays first!

I trust Jester that you are not suggesting that I have copied your transfers. :) If so then why should I need to do that ?? I've proved myself quite capable of winning this competition by my own devices ( and if I am able to win again this season it will be also be purely by my own devices) - and I've done it without going over the transfer limit per month at any time !!! :) :)

Having said that, to ease any threat of such accusations then changes by PM might be preferable but it is up to TSO which he finds easiest. After all he does put an awful amount of time and effort into running the various competitions for our enjoyment.

Down boy!!!

It was the fact that you posted your transfers again after TSO had 'noted' the first lot. Made me think about several mistakes already in the season (my own predoninantly!), and that doing it by PM would prevent any embarrassment felt by those of us making the mistakes.

But now you mention it...... How many people would have brought Beattie back in this weekend if I hadn't highlighted his return by doing it first? Maybe none, maybe everyone else would have done it anyway, we'll never know I suppose....

Apologies for causing you to think I had brought disrepute upon your good name though.

EDIT: Just realised it must have been your good self who highlighted the fact that I made an extra transfer one month. As you have now made this public, although it was a genuine mistake on my part, I think it is best if I take no more part in the competition. I do not want to risk any unsavoury posts at the end of the season should I manage to hold on at the top.

TSO - please do the necessary.

Jester,

There is no way that I would want my words to result in you deciding to withdraw your team particularly as there is a healthy battle going on at the top between a few teams including yours , so I would urge you not to be so hasty. :)

I think perhaps your action in bringing back Beattie may well have highlighted to others that he was coming back into the team but I think that many would certainly include Beattie when he is playing as he is by far the most obvious choice in that group. I decided not to put him back just yet as I have Sheffield Utd as my team in that group and thus would have had to use 2 transfers to accommodate him.

Don't worry giblet, it's not down to what you said.

I did cock up, and at the time asked TSO if he wanted me to drop out. He was kind enough to see it as an oversight, but it's come up and would inevitably do so again when I eventually win the competition...!!!

Not sure I want to win having flouted the rules so? :(

TSO, are you going to instruct that transfers be by pm ONLY from now on then or leave people with a choice of pm or post?

As it would appear that not TOO many entrants to this game are performing transfers from week to week I would ask if you could post a list of weekly transfers made as soon as a particular weekly deadline has passed as I personally think it adds considerably to the interest to be able to roughly compare how my team has done each matchday with others whilst waiting a while for the updates to be posted. :) :)
