4 draws from set 2 means no 7 timers, but I think most pickers will get between 16pts - 18pts, a nice reward for getting them in early.forestfan wrote:Thanks - none of the top five missed out then, but looks like I've gained points on most by not picking Leverkusen. Now it's just a case of when to play my game in hand...

I opted for set 1 as usual, but there are a few dodgy games that could go either way, so not expecting a huge return.
Set 2 looked quite tempting as there is still promotion/play-off places up for grabs, so at least all the teams involved should be up for the games.
In set 3 both of the big guns Celtic and Rangers are playing away.

Sorry about that. When you click on your team from the league table it pulls the data from a different part of the database, I've added all set 3's so you should be able to see your set 3 picks now. I added all the others but forgot set 3 for some reason, all done now though.thelip wrote:Ian - what has happened to my Set 3 selections?

S*ds law mate, if only you'd left it to set 1 as your cup picks, hard luck.jeffersdn wrote:Hoping that Liverpool don't win, so I have a guaranteed spot in the FA cup final!
A tricky choice for you, but surely you have to go for the cup seeing as you've done all the hard work getting to the final.bombom wrote:Hmmm...decisions, decisions.
Do I go for one of the two dodgy looking midweek sets to hopefully get the Loyalty Cup, or save my 2 picks for the last matchday of the season and hope that secures the Premier League.

Good luck, it could be quite a haul if all goes well.bombom wrote:Yeah...gotta go for the Cup Final I suppose. The only thing nagging me is the fact that I've never been in such a strong league position with only 2 matchdays left, and probably never will again!
It's going to be a nervy time for the likes of Jaybrent and myself with Premiership survival at stake. I've got my picks in for the midweek games.

A final bump for this midweeks Matchday 18, the deadline is 7pm tonight.
Then it's onto the final league scoring Matchday of the season. So there will only be 3 sets of selections (listed a few posts above) left to pick from, so you'll need to use up all games in hand if you have any.
There will be a '1 set' Matchday 20 but, as usual, this will only be used for tiebreakers (if needed) and end of season friendlies.

Hmmm...13 points suggests it didnt go well!!
Trying for the Cup Final was the right thing to do, but should have gone for the Spanish instead of the German selection.
It was 50/50 which one I was going to pick, but looking at the results I reckon I was even on for a 7xW if I'd stuck with my Spanish selections!!

Hard luck mate, I've just worked out the scores and FC Blackwolwes has romped it! with 19pts from his set 2 Spanish picks in the cup final.
We had a cash winner from the Champions Cup, but not sure if he's a FISOer.
This weekends FA Cup is an all FISO affair between BadaBing Lucky7s and Hexham FC, but there'll be no cash winners.
........................
I'm not sure if the paid game as it is will run for next season. I may try a different format or drop it altogether.
At the moment, I am considering toning down my involvement with the running of the Lucky 7's game as other commitments are making it difficult, but I will keep you informed of any decisions over the summer, but I'd like to say a big thanks to all who have taken part in the paid games.

Be a real shame if it didn't but it does seem to be a game that requires constant attention / updating.thelip wrote:Lucky7s wrote:

Maybe as a temporary measure you could cut down to one set of sets per week rather than two and extend the season(s).
If you need to cut down Ian then ditching the paid game seems sensible.

My web hosting account is paid up until next August/September, so I will keep the game going next season, but as murf has suggested I have been considering making it a weekly game spreading it out over 19 weeks per L7s season giving us 2 L7s seasons a year instead of 4 (Aug ~ Dec and then Jan ~ May).
I would like to keep the gameplay format as it is, so if I make those changes it should help by halving my workload. We can then see how it runs before making any further decisions next summer.

Reminder: The entry deadline for Matchday 19 is at 12 noon tomorrow (Saturday)
FISO league teams yet to enter:
Honeys Hooters
Primitives
SerXI
Smoke City
Surreal Mildred
The Kop Kings
Van Bunners (1 set short)
Matchday 19 will be the last chance to score league points this season, so if you have any games in hand use them up now or you'll finish the season short.
Edit: Thanks for all the comments and feedback, I'm looking forward to having a break from running the game, but I'm sure I'll be itching to get started once the pre season friendlies start around mid-late July.
I also thought that interest for the paid game would gather momentum (never mind), but thanks to the core of you who did participate making it worthwhile.

My title-chasing double selection is in. Was very hard to choose between the sets this week, so let's see if I got it right!
Looks like it's probably a four-way title race, between the current top two and two of us with a set in hand. The leading team had a poor midweek set so that's really opened it up.
