*murf's 6 Nations Egg Chasing Predictions Knockout Cup 2014*
Welcome to the Seventh(!) annual Egg Chasing Predictions Knockout Cup run by me here on FISO. The role of champions reads
2008: thelip
2009: Rookster
2010: amcal59
2011: Big Bird
2012: Big Bird (again!)
2013: Zoolander
We all know that, even after 6 years of this Predicting malarkey, Egg Chasing remains incredibly dull and is just a way of posh kids using up a bit of pent up energy so they don't get too carried away when it comes to what they see as the main event afterwards - the communal showering.
Anyways, some posh kid at a posh school picked up a football years ago, turned it into an egg and invented a sport called Rugby. For some unknown reason he wasn't beaten up by sane football loving kids but spawned a sport now played at international level across the world, well in and around the UK and a few places down under. All weird I know but a good excuse for another predictions comp .......
HOW THE CUP WORKS
There will be 5 weekends of matches, starting on 2nd Feb, and the cup will have 5 rounds
Wk 1, 1/2 Feb - Last 32
Wk 2, 8/9 Feb - Last 16
Wk 3, (Fri)21/22 Feb - Last 8
Wk 4, 8/9 Mar - Semis
Wk 5, 15 March - Final
Each week will be straightforward knockout.
I am therefore limiting it to the first 32 entrants on a first pick (legally) first served basis - although I reserve the right to remove entrants whose posts I consider not to be in the spirit of FISO, strictly no altar egos or multi-entering etc etc. No reserving a space - you have to pick - edits allowed til first kick off.
If we get to 32 I will close the drawbridge and do a draw. If we do not get to 32 then the 16 highest scores go through round 1.
HOW TO PICK
For each of the 3 games listed just state which team you think will win and by how many points (you must nominate your winner and cannot select the draw). YOU MUST FOLLOW THE TEMPLATE OR RISK DISQUALIFICATION
HOW THE SCORING WORKS
For each game you start with 50 points and lose 1 for each point you are out. There will be 10 bonus points available if you get it spot on so a maximum score of 180 across the 3 games is possible. If your team only draws you lose an additional 5 points. If your team loses you lose an additional 10 points.
Example - You pick England to win by 22 points.
Eng win by 22: Spot on: 50 + 10 bonus = 60
Eng win by 24: Out by 2: 50 - 2 = 48
Eng win by 1: Out by 21: 50 - 21 = 29
Eng draw: Out by 22 and 5 pts off for draw: 50 - 22 - 5 = 23
Eng lose by 6: Out by 28 (22 + 6) and 10 points off for defeat: 50 - 28 - 10 = 12
Eng lose 20: Out by 42 (22 + 20) and 10 poinst off for defeat: 50 - 42 - 10 = -2
Tie-break: In the event of a tie, matches will be decided as followed: closest to England result, closest to Scottish result, closest to Welsh result, closest to Ireland result, first to pick.
Rules:
1. My word is law
2. Edits allowed until first kick off then strictly no edits allowed.
3. Late entries allowed until subsequent kick offs.
HOW TO ENTER
Just enter your picks on the thread (If you aren't ready just put any results down - you can always think about it later and edit)

15 spots left - deadline is this weekend
Looks like we might not get to the 32 - if we do then it will be a cup draw and you will need to beat your opponent. If not then it will simply be best 16 scores to get through. Either way then just 16 get through to round 2.
