Sorry Payner had to play a bonus against you! You know we never used to play a bonus against each other in the old days when we were in the top flight.
Obviously in this position I am desperate for the points so hopefully WBA will now concede.
Actually I had exactly the same team as you at one point. Had a feeling about Hazard, I wanted Gabriandini in my line-up but it meant that King couldn't be captain and after last week I couldn't risk not having him. I know I'm picking a team for last week is a bad tactic in this game but picking the same defence as your opposition and playing DS is a good one.
I was still thinking about spending more of my spare 1m on an Antonio upgrade right thru last night - it would of been to a Swansea striker (that I cant spell!).

Anyway as you've recently won promotion I'm sure you can do it again next season.
And congrats on your recent Champions League success. You seem to have somehow become a CUP Team!

This week for me demonstrates how good this game is - in my tie with the league leader.....

Strong defence against weak defence backed up by DS
Average strikers with an in-form captain v three strong strikers and two I've never heard of (and who will now both score of course!)

So many options and strategies - and as usual, my opponents team look much better than mine!

If I have every indication before I post the line-ups that someone has attempted to enter, I will generally investigate and allow it, as I want proper matches wherever possible.

Perhaps the no-shows can be named and shamed on the thread (as well as by PM) so that they are fully aware? Or is that too public and possibly providing some strategic advantage to their opponent?

Well, I can't guarantee being available to send reminders at any specific time, or at all, on a Friday evening - however I think it's fair enough to post on the thread who is missing if it is quite late on, as I think one or more of the previous organisers used to do at one time.

Thankfully it's rare that people say they've tried to enter but it hasn't registered - people entering late do so at their own risk though, and it's your responsibility to provide proof that you've entered! I would encourage people to make placeholder entries early in the week to boost their chances, then if you forget/have a problem on the Friday you still have a chance to get something out of the game.

Premiership

Nathan247 will end his long wait for a title if he wins, wahine and Big Kev draw, and Spinynorman fails to win.
Malrom is down with anything less than victory, or if Richt and Rick Spangle both win.
Spencer4 will join him if he loses, Richt wins and Jagduracell gets a point.

Championship

Adlad is up by beating zipnolan along with two of his other three closest rivals dropping points.
Anything less than a win effectively does for Cup specialist Payner, but a defeat seals his relegation, as would wins for Aldershot Rejects and Primitive man.

League One

Graydb is up with a win over nearest rival Fuzzy - a draw is enough if Dickypick and Roodnose do not both win.
At the other end, only a win for MoSe and defeat for Zuluwarrior keeps the former's hopes alive.
Bluenosey will join him in League Two with a defeat or draw and a Zuluwarrior win.

League Two

A point effectively seals it for GregsEggs, but a win, or dropped points for Smurphy's Paw, does so mathematically.
His opponent Jester can clinch his own promotion by bettering Smurphy's result.
Minitoff would be down with a defeat to 8th-placed sibrown4 (Subsonic is already relegated due to multiple no-shows).

Conference

A point for samyadav makes his promotion official.
gutshot will join him if he gets a better result than Rookster and topspur.

It's one of the worst things about running this game, chasing people and no-shows. I fully support FF's approach where he tries to be lenient with late entrants - it is a competition but it's also in my opinion, a friendly one.

Yeah, as long as I'm satisfied people are not trying to gain an advantage by entering late or taking the piss by doing it repeatedly, I'd rather give people a bit of leeway so we don't get lots of Randoms games unnecessarily. I think the new yellow card system has worked, as this is the first week it's actually come into play (if somewhat London bus style, three of them at once!) although we have had no-shows.

Reminders are a courtesy measure that aren't guaranteed - as I said, once in a while I might have other plans on a Friday evening... in my view, it's all about getting the balance between fairness and getting a game that isn't ruined by no-shows. This season's been pretty good in that regard, the new players have been enthusiastic and there's only two people who have repeatedly failed to show, one of them having contacted me about personal circumstances.

As I always emphasise though, enter early and you'll be fine! Widget automated reminders would be good if they're possible, but one thing at a time, let's make it allow people to de-select a SOF first

I had mixed feelings about Lukaku's late brace having captained him in FPL but knowing that I really need to win this game to stay in the league.

I understand my survival in league one doesn't gather much interest as samyadav's or PL title,
but it's another verdict which could be decided now, or remain open

BTW, in FPL I have both Agüero and Mané, and a poor score so I'd need them to rack pts...
while here I can afford Kun to score 4 (as long as Rashford doesn't outscore Sané, and not forgetting I'd need to amend GD too), but Mané can get 1 at most... (sorry AR)
