Bazza's Randoms Given The Boot!

You may have noticed in this week's thread that the no-showing team has been given Dazza's Randoms to play against?

I have long considered that playing a no-show should not mean an almost certain win. This is particularly important late in a season when it can sometimes be predicted who will not enter - I'm not saying anyone does this, but it could happen.

For this season therefore, I am 'resting' Bazza and have called up Dazza.

Dazza is better at FISODAS than Bazza!

This should lead to more competitive games for players who are up against no-shows. They won't feel they have 'wasted' a bonus, should they have played one for instance.
There will be no gain from this for non-entering players - they always lose the game. Should DRs win, goals will be adjusted for the no-show so he does not improve his goal difference in a week he didn't select. The opponent will get the score as it actually finished however.


I am happy to call Season 24 a trial run for this change - if it flops, we can think again.

Bazza's lot just weren't very good and lost 90% of the time. Dazza's team will be much better - and probably lose 99% of the time!



Seriously, I'm just spending a little more of the budget now and hopefully putting out a more competitive line up so that teams don't get a virtual 'bye' when up against a no-show (the random selection is given to the no-shower)
