Egg Premier League 2018/19

Post by Mystery »

Note - This league is not open to newcomers - see separate thread.

Welcome to the 15th year of unique free to play Egg FF, the winner of each league wins a bespoke mug (with printed egg cup) and most importantly inclusion in the Hall of Fame located here :- viewtopic.php?f=59&t=109863

How To Play:-

1. You will be given the template team below in which you must make at least 1 and no more than 2 changes to this team by midnight on Wednesday 8th August to allow the chairman enough time to check that all teams are valid before the start of the season on Friday 10th August. Which silly so-and-so complicated our lives with starting a season on a Friday?

Patricio 3.0

Otamendi 4.2
Bailly 3.6
Robertson 3.8
Sanchez D 3.8

Ozil 4.9
Sane 4.9
Salah 6.0
Sanchez A 5.6
El Younoussi 3.1

Aguero 6.8

2. Following the start of the season manage your team in the normal way but post your transfers on the relevant thread using the following template as a guide:-

Player 1
Player 2
Player 3  example transfer Huth
Player 4  example transfer Shawcross
Player 5
Player 6
Player 7
Player 8
Player 9
Player 10
Player 11

Transfers Left:- 28
Value of Team:- xx.xm

Reasons for Transfers :-
Blah Blah Blah

Chairman is TBC

Notes:-

1. Each league chairman will PM the Super League log in details, once received please enter your team in the SL as soon as possible so we can fill each league, you do not need to have made your changes at this stage. Your team name must include your FISO name to help identify yourself to others (and to me for the cup competitions) other than that be creative! and you must set your team to PUBLIC VIEW.

2. Chairman that report invalid teams at the start of the season may have to be excluded or a transfer penalty imposed (making an enforced transfer) so please pay special care to getting your team correct - it is after all very easy.

3. The Egg competition is intended as a free to play open, friendly and fun competition. If everyone posts transfers as they should on a timely basis (same day or at the very least before the next scheduled kick off) then there will be no problems, everything will run smoothly. If you feel it will not be possible to do this then please think about whether this competition is for you as it is very frustrating for others who do comply to see others not. Only those that generally comply will be allowed to play in the leagues the following year.

4. There will be a 3 up, 3 down promotion and relegation at the end of the season - no playoff this season. If anyone withdraws during the season one less will be relegated from that Division, if anyone decides not to play in the next season an additional promotion place will arise from the next league down.

5. There will be an FA cup competition which runs alongside the league competition. I will announce the weeks for the cup competition and the draws in a separate thread so keep an eye out! There is also a Champions League Competition which you need to have qualified for from the previous year.

6. If there is a tie for any position the winner will be decided by the Telegraph rules ie goals scored etc, any individual prizes are for the individual, SL prizes will be shared out as per the Fiso SL.

7. It is a requirement that you are a FISO member to play the Egg leagues if you are banned you will be removed from the league.

Premier League

Please confirm your place ASAP and once the league is full I will set up the next league. EDIT: we are complete. Thanks all

What starting xi are we using this year?
My view would be I dont care as long as all 11 are pickable/ likely starters and there are no obvious ones to drop.

Yes, been a bit too poor in recent years. Want it so all players are least OKish starters so there are a few you maybe wouldn't pick yourself but aren't sure whether to stick or burn a transfer on them. Don't want massive team divergence in week 1 (IMO)

In Champ thread I made a suggestion of an objective Points per Mill XI, posting what it would have been for last season.

Response was positive and XI has been sent, and forgotten by me   but it was essentially Top PpM with only 1 Def\GK and Mid\For from each real Club.

How about we all nominate a couple of players and then someone or somehow we pick the final 11 from those?

I was thinking more along the lines of a premium and a not so premium but still decent possible pick but I could live with those two as a starting point. :)

Bumpity. Up for discussion / suggestions on the starting XI too.

Also, I'm looking for a volunteer chairman with both Hoppy and I in the fashionable lower league.

The team generation could either be a group thing (would be interesting but could take forever), a randomly generated member of this group to come up with the eleven or farm it out to a sensible/respected other to pick the team. I think an in house solution whether group orientated or individual would be nice.

Found this team on the Fantasy Football Geek website. Enough dodgy picks to make it a decent Egg Cup Team.

Not a bad starting point but too many similar midfielders and defence a bit dodgy?
