Potential Egg Cup league changes
Just chucking this out there....
Would it be practical or feasible or desirable to run this as a limited transfers game with, say / my initial suggestion, 24 transfers per year?
Particularly with Mystery and his charts and spreadsheets at the helm???

Re: I'm Resigning at the end of the season but....
I like the extra transfers myself as I'd be useless without them but I'm more than happy to go with the flow.

Anything that gives Murf a better chance (if only in his eyes) I'm automatically against.

Less transfers would certainly get my vote

Yeah, the thought of introducing a transfer limit crossed my mind too, but wondered whether it might make the league admin/policing more onerous? If it could be done, it would get my vote.

Well it would be feasible. I'd prefer that everyone kept on reporting transfers as now (therefore largely self-policing) but assuming there's no website change next year I could manage this for sure.Hogmeister wrote:Yeah, the thought of introducing a transfer limit crossed my mind too, but wondered whether it might make the league admin/policing more onerous? Personally, I don't really mind the higher number of transfers but if the consensus wanted less I'd be OK with that too.

I'd rather keep to the rules imposed by TFF generally.

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
Thanks for running for the last few years Hoppy.
Best TFF side game on FISO so glad that Mystery has agreed to continue the running of it. Cheers Mystery.
As for the transfers, I'd like my Egg team to have a chance (however small) of winning a prize in the main game so would be against the reduction in transfers.

Already too few of us. We should stick to one Eggcup, whatever the rules....happyhoppy wrote:Sounds like a breakaway egg league is forming!

I also prefer just playing by whatever rules the Telegraph throws at us - who knows what craziness they will come up with next year?

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
Not enough of a consensus to swap IMO.
Think a low transfer game has legs (outside Eggcup) but hard to administrate.

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
Only practical way of doing that would be to have the same start up team then require everyone makes that same 5 transfers for each of the first 3 weeks, probably best to make them consensus transfers with debate and votes.murf wrote:Not enough of a consensus to swap IMO.

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
I think the consensus is we'd probably like TFF to decide to have less transfers but we'll go with whatever they give us. Fine with me.

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
That could work but 2 seperate egg style games isnt a good idea imo.Vid wrote:Only practical way of doing that would be to have the same start up team then require everyone makes that same 5 transfers for each of the first 3 weeks, probably best to make them consensus transfers with debate and votes.murf wrote:Not enough of a consensus to swap IMO.

A completely seperate retro/low transfer style game i like the idea of, if 24 was peoples idea of the ideal game then just a screenshot at year end showing 16 left could suffice? Could add in no flange transfers? But an added admin issue.
Regarding egg ideas, the initial team selection seems to be the area where recent years have been a struggle with no thelip team/hansen team.
Havent got an ideas but perhaps an area for thought/changes.

Just a couple of questions. Would we do the transfers by post and how do you do a screen shot?robot wrote:That could work but 2 seperate egg style games isnt a good idea imo.Vid wrote:Only practical way of doing that would be to have the same start up team then require everyone makes that same 5 transfers for each of the first 3 weeks, probably best to make them consensus transfers with debate and votes.murf wrote:Not enough of a consensus to swap IMO.

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
There is a thread somewhere on how to do a screenshot, but just before the end of the season we could have a tutorial for those in need of help
I did say the ideal retro I didnt play in the postal days, for those that think the game has changed for the worst when was it at its best?

Re: Potential Egg Cup league changes
The pre season is a pain and the least enjoyable part (for me anyway) checking valid teams and ending up cocking my own team up. Ideas on this would be welcome.

At least you have an excuse for cocking up your team. I'm still looking for one.happyhoppy wrote:The pre season is a pain and the least enjoyable part (for me anyway) checking valid teams and ending up cocking my own team up. Ideas on this would be welcome.
