APAT Forum Championship - FISO Entry

Post by Pasty »

How good would this be  :D

Imagine all the fun we could have organising the Fisoers that would represent the Forum against the countries best :D

No Forum would be refused entry providing interest entered ealy enough.

Unfortunately it may well be too soon to organise the team or teams as now is the case plus holidays etc.

Any way details below, but its gotta be a defo for next year surely  a weekend of poker in Blackpool

http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=1396.0

The APAT UK Forum Championship will be fully dealer dealt and played over two days at the G Casino in Blackpool on July 19th & 20th.

The entry fee per player will be £50 and no registration fee will be charged. All of the entry fees will be returned in prize money. There will be an added GUKPT seat for the individual tournament winner; in addition to prize money, while the winning Forum will win £1,000, the Forum Championship Cup and the right to call themselves the premier poker playing forum.

This is likely to be the most competitive two day tournament that APAT have ever ran.

Further tournament details will be made available in the coming weeks, but if any additional forums would like to enter teams into this event, please submit details on this thread or email customer@apat.com.

The following forums have expressed an interest in competing, with further communities to follow:

A World of Poker
Blondepoker
Chezger
Eat My Stack
Furness Poker
Gambling.co.uk
Gutshot
London Poker Meetup
Punters Lounge
Raise The River

Btw it's for teams of 10, with possibilities of more than one team. The play would be MTT, and no doubt deep stacked.

Looks like a right laugh - im sure we have some northern monkeys scattered about - wheres Karrde and Spirey   it would almost
be a home match for them - plus they have the added benefit that they would be acclimatised without the need for innoculations

Could we organise it for this year :?: Could we get 10 players who might have to stay 1/2 nights in Blackpool :?: Theres plenty of B+B's  But plenty of unanswered questions, the questions would need answering within a week i would say :o

I'd love to go but I am going Blackpool on the annual p#ss up with the lads the week after on 25th july, not sure if 2 weekends in a row in sunny Blackpool will make a hapy household at home! Also not sure what work I have on yet and it won't do my bank balance any good! So it's a don't know from me :?

For the Merseyside Nuts Players.

For info I think the regional final will be the 20th. It will certainly be the 20th or 27th - But John prefers it to be the 20th (one week after the Lancashire event) - Do you think its worth me hassling him to make it the 27th? (certainly no guarentee though)

I fancy this as well. £50 is out of my comfort zone, but as a one off :D

I was just browsing through the APAT forum and stumbled across this -
King Pasty wrote:Can i express a serious interest from Fiso Forum please.

Hope its not too late
I particularly like the use of the word 'serious' :D No messing about from the Pasty there :D

Karrde, it'd be nice to be able to play in both but it seems a lot of effort to rearrange the whole day just for 3 of us? If this comes off I'd much prefer a weekend in Blackpool than an afternoon on the Wirral :D

Having said that if you can get it put back, your first pint in Blackpool is on me :D

Well, I will plead with him to make the Mersey game the 27th. I might sweeten the deal by offering him the chance to be one of our 10 in Blackpool? - (he is a former final tabler in a nuts national event) Thats assuming we dont have 10 genuine fisoers declaring interest first.

I have some influence on him, we get on well... i rate my chances as better than 50/50 of getting the 27th

Cat in hells chance of me getting up there gents. Got a wedding on the 19th and back to work on the 20th.

Besides, I've already braved one trip oop norf already this year.

All the best if you get a team together and I'd be keen for next year.

This is officially a goer then :D

We have 7 and Spencer seems keen. Even if noone else from FISO is up for it we can ask few outsiders to make up the numbers?

Pasty any ideas when they will announce the official format? Is it defo 10 to a team? It seems a bit unclear on the website.

I'm looking forward to this 8-)

Having now read the thread through it appears team interest was preferred by the end of May  I knew about this event then too

I have sent them an email this morning and hopefully its not too late.

It appears that its 10 man STT's on the saturday with a similar scoring to what we have been playing then the MTT on the Sunday. Damn it sounds good. Fingers crossed with the email. Will be seeing them in person on Saturday so perhaps i can get us in :D
