TFF chit chat 19th, 20th and 21st September
Saturday 19th September
Everton 12:30 West Bromwich Albion
This weekend's set of fixtures starts at Goodison where Everton welcome newly promoted West Brom. Everton won last weekend with a goal from Calvert-Lewin, West Brom on the other hand were on the receiving end of a 3-nil defeat against Leicester. Based on this, you would expect a home win to be on the cards, however both teams won 3-nil in the EFL cup so it could be tighter than expected.
Leeds United 15:00 Fulham
The only 3pm fixture features two newly-promoted sides. Leeds were promoted as champions and the Fulham went up through the play-off so you would expect Leeds to slightly have the upper hand. The Fulham lost 3-nil to Arsenal in the season opener. Leeds however put up a spirited fight against Liverpool last weekend (but still lost) and were then defeated by Hull in midweek.
Manchester United 17:30 Crystal Palace
The 5:30 game is Manchester United v Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. This is United's first game of the season and they will be hoping to get off to a flying start. They've hardly strengthened over the summer, only bringing in Donny van de Beek and still have Ighalo in on loan. Surprisingly Crystal Palace won last weekend but they lost a 0-0 draw on penalties in the Cup on Tuesday.
Arsenal 20:00 West Ham United
The Saturday night match is a London derby featuring Arsenal against West Ham at the Ethiad. Arsenal were victorious in another London derby last weekend where they beat the Fulham - Willian put in a good performance, as did Gabriel. West Ham were defeated by Newcastle in their first League game so will be hoping to put in a better performance today. David Moyes is targeting his first ever win at Arsenal as a manager in all competitions, at the 20th attempt.
Sunday 20th September
Southampton 12:00 Tottenham Hotspur
Sunday's early game is Southampton v Spurs at St Mary's. Southampton have yet to win a game this season, losing both in the League and in the League Cup. Spurs themselves lost to Everton last weekend and the Amazon documentary has show some friction in the camp between Jose and the players. Spurs scraped a win in European competition on Thursday. Tottenham have made a cheeky bid for Danny Ings in midweek which the Saints knocked back, and look to have Bale back.
Newcastle United 14:00 Brighton & Hove Albion
The early afternoon match sees Newcastle taking on Brighton. The ornithology derby features the Magpies v the Seagulls. Newcastle made some astute signings over the summer with both Wilson and Fraser's names being added to the squad list. Brighton look rather light up front and their one summer signing of note, Adam Lallana, went off injured part way through their first game.
Chelsea 16:30 Liverpool
Arguably the weekend's biggest match is the late Sunday afternoon game featuring Chelsea against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had a convincing win last weekend though were incapable of keeping a cleansheet. Liverpool ran out victorious after a high scoring game against Leeds last weekend with Salah scoring a hat-trick. It is very early in the season but could this match already be considered a title decider?
Leicester City 19:00 Burnley
There is a late game this Sunday, a 7pm kick-off between Leicester and Burnley. Jamie Vardy got a brace last weekend to give Leicester a winning start to the season. This will be Burnley's first Premier League match of the campaign though they played Sheff Utd in the EFL Cup on Thursday, getting through on penalties. Gudmundsson was stretchered off in that one.
Monday 21st September
Aston Villa 18:00 Sheffield United
The early Monday evening game is Aston Villa against Sheffield United at Villa Park. This is Villa's first League game of the season and they've done some good business in the past week by extending Grealish's contract and signing an excellent new goalkeeper in the shape of Emi Martinez. Sheff U suffered a defeat at the hands of Wolves last weekend and the boot of Robbie Brady in midweek so will be hoping to pick up a point or three today.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 20:15 Manchester City
And finally, the late Monday night game is Wolves v Man City. City are another team who are yet to play a game this season. Aguero is he still out? City have only made a handful of transfers in over the summer with Ake adding further mystery to Pep's rotation policy. Wolves were victorious last weekend with Jimenez looking as sharp as ever and without European exertions would hope to be a top 6 side this season.
Everton 12:30 West Bromwich Albion

Noticed that the fixture times for October have not been announced yet (assuming they are played) Makes it harder planning for those potential 2-0's

Aguero is out. Ped said he hadn't completed a training session with teammates yet.

October changes pending
@ Matt70:
Changes to Premier League fixtures in Week 4 (Sat 3 to Sun 4 Oct) are partly dependent on League Cup Round 4 (Tue 29 Sept to Thurs 1 Oct) and Europa League play-off round (Thurs 1 Oct).
Take Spurs for example. After hosting Newcastle in PL on Sun 27 Sept, and assuming cup progress, they could meet Chelsea in LC on Tues 29 Sept, then play in EL on Thurs 1 Oct before travelling for the PL match at Manchester United on Sun 4 Oct.
The subsequent international break means no club fixture can be scheduled between Mon 5 Oct and Fri 16 Oct.
TV dates for PL (and LC) should be sorted next week.

Any takers?
"Liverpool's new signing Thiago Alcantara is now available to TFF managers at £4.4m and, if Gareth Bale rejoins Spurs, he'll be priced at £6.1m."
Not prices to tempt IMO. They could become value but I'm not rushing to jump either bandwagon.

Better and safer options in Bales price bracket imo (noticed somewhere he is currently injured too ). An attractive £4.4m midfielder would fit most of my teams really well but I definitely need to do some study to understand if Thiago’s quality will translate to fantasy points where only goals and assists matter.

"maybe in one or two months he will be ready." - so on average that is the start of November...

Liverpool signing Wolves' Jota for c.£40m. Presumably he'll get some decent game time without necessarily being a 1st team regular. I think there'll be a fair bit of grin and bear it with rotation this season.

Not sure where he fits, usual stuff about him appealing to Klopp as he is flexible so presumably could cover a number of positions.

Wondered why he was on the bench last week. That'll be a hold then.

Can't imagine Jota will be worth it at Liverpool but we shall see.

Yeah I'd be looking to change him. 34 games for 101 points last season. I'd be surprised if gets anything like that time, barring a bad injury to Salah/Mane.

No need to ditch Lallana yet, apparently he trained and is in the squad for this weekend, although always an injury risk but a hold for now I'd say.

Hendrick looks like a good bet for Lallana. Newcastle players usually always let you down though in my experience.

Diangana is cheaper and starts... for a West Brom team who don't look like they will score many.

Re: TFF chit chat 19th, 20th and 21st September
Still looking for a Superleague to join????
I think most superleagues advertised on FISO have closed their doors but...
The main FISO League can still be entered at any time. All teams from all FISOers welcome/wanted.
My Highlander League is still open for late entries until Saturday lunchtime only (12:30 kick off/deadline). Lowest score kicked out each week (that's the simple version - there are complications). Can you survive til May? One team allowed per FISOer but hurry up!

Everyone's new favourite enabler Diangana scores but does that count as an 'assist' under the new regime for Eggcup pick Pereira- short pass in own half.
EDIT Yep, showing a full live 12 points for those 2 in my Eggcup team.

Pickford really should have done better with the first from the replay. Maybe I need to reconsider my view that Everton’s defence might be a better option this year.

Maybe Southgate needs to reconsider his view that Pickford is England's number one.
