meanwhile the massed ranks of murf's Highlanders are needed to boost the entries for the How many goals cash comp. The first BUMP produced morganb's forecast and nothing else. (See post of 4 June, this thread) SamD has not responded, so far !
Just a week to go for the summer gamefest.

Some players going out of contract in the Championship (I think) have said they won't play again because they fear injury etc upsetting their chances of a move. Not sure if there is any of that going on in the Premier League or if poorer clubs may not take the 'option' of extending loans/contracts, especially for underperforming players.

Think most Liverpool players either out on loan (HWilson) or going out of contract (Lallana, Lonergan) have officially extended their deals. Man U have announced a few as well.

Henderson will definitely see out the season with Sheff Utd. Which seems a touch un-ruthless but probably keeps the player happy.

In other news it seems neutral venues are a thing of the past, Liverpool games will take place at the original stadium.

Goodison?

(Lpool was a breakaway from Everton? Or was it the other way round?)

thanks for that Darbyand. No one as yet has gone over 300. It will be interesting to see with a playing strength of 16 for each match just how many different players the various managers use in the mini season. How many academy players make an appearance and do not appear on our players lists. Discuss !

Don't think you want Ryan Fraser who has refused a contract extension (only available for the first 2 matches and his head won't be in the right place):

Not sure any sane club should sign a player with that little loyalty that he won't sign an extension til the end of the season. Shooting himself in the foot there.

I think the 5 sub rule will be bad for some players. Take the game below for example. City had 3 subs and their next game was 6 days later. Move into the re-start phase and that's 5 subs and a game every 3-4 days for the foreseeable future. 4-0 up after 45 minutes...do Aguero, KDB, Mahrez etc stay on for those crucial (to TFF) last two goals? My guess is two or three off at half time and the rest as the half progresses. Might mean more clean sheets going too, as teams become heavily disrupted as second halves progress. When I bring in players over the next 6 weeks I'll be looking for a) as many meaningful games as possible and b) those players you might call "The Indefatigables", hard to define but who always seem to be there playing every game and seeing games through to the death.

In the circumstances, what a headache it must be to still have transfers left. Really feel for you folks

with 5 days to go just Jamjack has answered the Darbyand initiative with a goals forecast. Each squad can be 16 players. Can we stagger to 16 forecasts FISOers.

Looking at the fixtures I'm thinking of piling in to City. I've been a bit over-cautious in the early part of the season and still have 18 subs left.

If you count City making it to the FA Cup final they could have three games over many rivals and four over Liverpool. I suspect once Liverpool wrap up the title the squad players will get a lot of starts, and even with with 5 subs and 2 games a week the key players for City will play in each game as a starter or sub.

City have a 2-1 over Liverpool in week 47 with both games after Liverpool's. I think I'm going to see what Pep does in week 46 and then move from Liverpool to City in week 47. Any thoughts?

Current Team
Henderson
Gomez TAA Soyuncu Baldock
KDB Mahrez Mane Salah Saka
Aguero

City will surely rotate and relax more than Liverpool once the title is decided. They'll get the cup games (if not beaten) but will they care that much????
Plus they have 3 'big 6' teams in their first 4 league games.
Including City when rotating your stars for bonus games is a solid plan but expect to lose minutes with City players (and others).

PS Saw that Liverpool beat Blackburn 6-0 yesterday with plenty of subs (inc 7 at HT). No sign of Salah in report or pictures (I'm not subscribed so can't watch highlights).

City have CL to prepare for, whereas Lpool don't... I'm not sure what that will mean, but it will mean something 😐

CL final is scheduled for a full 4 weeks after PL finishes. QF and SF likely to be in mini tournament in week or so before final. All likely at 1 stadium or in 1 city / area in short period of time.

City and others have 1 leg of last 16 games to go which is causing organisational complications.

My point was more that Citeh have something to prepare for, whereas Lpool have some unglorified friendlies to play....

In theory yes but my recollection of teams waiting for European finals with dead league seasons is that they drop in form because their heads are elsewhere and they are scared of injury etc.

Lots of 'not a clue' about so save what few transfers you have til the clues emerge is the nearest I have to a 'tactic'....

Then fail to find a decent use for them, regret not spending them and ultimately waste them on Cup Final players.

So, same as every year!

Back to TFF...

Weekly e-mail confirms nothing silly like extra transfers, necessary tweaks to Super 16s.

MOTW every week til end and a single MOTM over all remaing games.

Me thinks that will reduce the promised prize pot....
