TFF chit chat 26th and 27th December
THURSDAY 26TH DECEMBER
Tottenham 12:30 Brighton
The first of the post Christmas games features a team from the last of the pre Christmas matches - Spurs. This time Brighton are the visitors. Tottenham lost against Chelsea so will be keen to win to keep the pressure on the sides above them. Brighton are sat in mid table, though nearer to the bottom three than the top 5.
Aston Villa 15:00 Norwich
Last season this was a Championship fixture, next season who knows, but this season both clubs are just about in the Premier League. Villa lie in 18th, 3 points inside the bottom three, whereas Norwich are joint bottom. For the Canaries Pukki is playing with a broken toe and Cantwell is in form again. Grealish scored again for Villa.
Bournemouth 15:00 Arsenal
The first of the 3pm games sees Arsenal travelling to deepest, darkest Dorset to take on Bournemouth. Arsenal have been poor all season but hopefully a new manager will help them improve. The Cherries were terrible for the whole of November and won’t want to be drawn into a relegation scrap after losing to Burnley at the weekend.
Chelsea 15:00 Southampton
Chelsea versus Southampton next. Chelsea are still in the top 6 after beating Spurs and will be hoping to win against a team that has been knocking around the lower regions all season. Ings has been a shining light for the Saints, scoring the first against Villa. Chelsea might soon be hitting the January transfer sales.
Crystal Palace 15:00 West Ham
A London derby featuring Crystal Palace and West Ham is up next. Palace have become a hard team to beat though lost to Newcastle - hopefully their defensive injury crisis will ease up soon. West Ham are the lowest placed of the London teams and need to improve over the second half of the season. Having the weekend off may help.
Everton 15:00 Burnley
Big Dunc has worked wonders with the Everton squad but his time in the hot seat is now over. Burnley’s results have started to pick up recently and lie in mid table, having two fit strikers has certainly helped. Everton will be aiming to pull away from the relegation danger soon.
Sheff Utd 15:00 Watford
Sheffield United have been one of the surprise packages of the season so far and should be safe from relegation whatever happens in the second half of the season. Watford are still in the relegation zone and will have a hard struggle to remain in the Premier League for another season though the win against Man Utd will have provided a boost.
Man Utd 17:30 Newcastle
The Boxing Day tea time match has Newcastle travelling to Ole Trafford to take on Man United. This is the type of game that you’d expect Manchester United to win but they will inevitably drop points against a lesser team again. Newcastle are sat in mid table, probably surprising a lot of people! They beat Palace last time out.
Leicester 20:00 Liverpool
The late game is a top of the table clash between Leicester and Liverpool. The Reds have been on their travels before Christmas which hopefully hasn’t taken its toll on the team too much. Winning the Club Championship probably helps. Leicester have a solid defence and a potent striker in Vardy so must fancy their chances here, though have hit a bumpy a patch recently.
FRIDAY 27TH DECEMBER
Wolves 19:45 Man City
Just the one match on Friday, featuring Manchester City taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers. City will know what they have to do as all the other teams at the top will now have played. Aguero appeared on the bench last time out. 6th place Wolves have played a lot of games this season and are likely to rest a few players over the seasonal fixtures.

Re: TFF chit chat 26th and 27th December
Merry Christmas morganb and all!
Don't get too drunk and forget to:
A) Bring your Liverpool players back after the 3 for 0 (you can always pretend you were going for a 4 for 1) and
B) Cancel that free 30 day 'free' Amazon Prime subscription after watching these games. Don't start the new year with a new bill.

Felicitations all!
Son out for 3... I can ditch him and squeeze in Kane or Aguero (already have Rashford/Vardy).... either potential to go on goal rampage but Kane been a bit quiet and Aguero short of match fitness... (bench again maybe??) need to take a look at fixtures i guess...so much for chilling over festive season

Since you mentioned Aguero and fixtures, don't forget City's game on Sunday is one of those rare occasions in TFF where you won't get to see their line-up in advance. Transfer deadline is an hour and a half before they kick off (i.e. when Liverpool play Wolves).ventosus wrote: ↑25 Dec 2019, 11:54 Felicitations all!

Only just realised that my traditional Boxing Day festivities have been ruined as I have no premier league football to watch on telly.

Sign up for the free Amazon Prime trial. If you are like me it means watching it on your phone/lapdog/tablet rather than telly but surely better than watching The Sound Of Music etc on a proper telly. Then cancel after the games.Spinynorman wrote: ↑26 Dec 2019, 10:57 Only just realised that my traditional Boxing Day festivities have been ruined as I have no premier league football to watch on telly.

It is an early HD set so a good few years old now. I'm sure I could work out a way of doing it but I am planning a TV upgrade at some stage so, basically, can't be arsed (plus Mrs m might have something to say about me watching footie on the main telly all day)

You can't watch it unless you are signed up to Amazon Prime (or use an illegal feed as always).
30 day free trial so will have 28 days to forget to forget or just do it at full time tomorrow. (a lot more than those of us who signed up in time for the first set of games, nearly 30 days ago)

And there's a first start for Tottenham in the Premier League for Ryan Sessegnon.
The 19-year-old has made two substitute appearances in the competition but did start in the Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich earlier this month.
He is one of two changes for Spurs, while Brighton make five changes to the side beaten by Sheffield United on Saturday.

Amazon Prime is where today's matches are being shown. They offer a free 30 day trial so you could sign up and cancel or keep it if you do lots of Amazon shopping as delivery is free. Prime TV also offers other films and series. Smart TVs have a Prime app or you can 'cast' from a phone or use a lead from a laptop to connect to the TV.Spinynorman wrote: ↑26 Dec 2019, 11:24

The Now box is a Sky backed thing so no football today. You pay a monthly fee for films, another for 'entertainment' and you buy daily sports passes.
Fire stick is an Amazon device (according to Google) so you might be able to watch football on it today?
If your smart TV has a browser then there are football 'streams' available but these are not strictly legal and are dubious quality but free.

Liverpool players back today, but needing to get rid of Pulisic I'm not sure whether to restore TAA (didn't go from him to Pulisic don't worry!) or go for Mahrez - any views anyone?
