TFF chit chat 28th, 29th and 30th September
SATURDAY 28 SEPTEMBER
Sheffield United 12:30 Liverpool
Saturday's early fixture sees top of the table Liverpool travelling to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United. Both sides were in action in mid-week in the Carabao Cup - Liverpool won and Sheffield United lost. Sheffield will be in for a tough time today but I doubt many expected them to beat Everton last time out. Still no Alisson.
Aston Villa 15:00 Burnley
The first of the 3pm matches has Burnley off to the Midlands to play Aston Villa. Burnley were victorious against Norwich last weekend and take on another of the newly promoted teams this weekend. Aston Villa have been putting in decent performances without picking up the results. McGinn anyone?
AFC Bournemouth 15:00 West Ham United
Both of the teams involved in the next match were both unceremonious dumped out of the Cup in midweek by Burton and Oxford respectively. One less competition to be distracted by then! In the League, Bournemouth are in the top 5 and West Ham beat Man Utd last time out. The Wilsons are doing OK.
Chelsea 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion
Next to Stamford Bridge where Brighton are the visitors. Frank Lampard's Chelsea are sat around mid-table with Brighton a few places lower. Chelsea has a comfortable win in the Cup but Christensen us a doubt in defence. Brighton have a good enabler in the shape of Dan Burn.
Crystal Palace 15:00 Norwich City
Palace were unlucky to lose last weekend, conceding a late, late goal against Wolves. Norwich have been doing well since they were promoted but their famous victory against Man City was followed up by a loss to Burnley. Not an easy one to predict.
Tottenham Hotspur 15:00 Southampton
Spurs are not on their way to Wembley in the Carabao Cup as they lost on Penalties to Colchester. Southampton are still in the Cup and this might be a good time to play Tottenham. Harry has still been blowing the doors off even in games they subsequently lose.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 15:00 Watford
Wolverhampton Wanderers V Wafford next. Both teams have been poor this season and their league positions reflect this - 19th and 20th respectively. In a strange piece of symmetry, in the Cup it was Watford against Swansea and Wolves v Reading, this weekend the two Prem and two Championship sides are up against each other.
Everton 17:30 Manchester City
Saturday’s late match features Manchester City against Everton at Goodison. Man City racked up a cricket score against Watford last weekend and Everton are having a wobble at the moment so you would expect an away win. Will Zinchenko be in the starting 11 today?
SUNDAY 29 SEPTEMBER
Leicester City 16:30 Newcastle United
Sunday's solitary match is at the King Power where Newcastle are the visitors. Leicester have been going great guns and Brendan Rodgers and are sat in a Champions League spot. Newcastle are where you would expect them to be, just outside the bottom three.
MONDAY 30 SEPTEMBER
Manchester United 20:00 Arsenal
And finally, the Monday night fixture is the weekend's biggest match featuring Arsenal travelling to Ole Trafford to take on Manchester United. Manchester Utd will be relying on youth to get them through this one with Rashford out. Who knows how Arsenal will perform.

Didn't realise the Wolves/Watford symmetry.
Is spookily the same with Sheff Utd v Liverpool as their cup opponents are also against each other, Sunderland v MK Dons.

Sortable table on Bramernic site shows best 19 scorers are strikers and midfielders, all with 30+ points:

At end of last season, str/mid were outnumbered by def/gk in the top 16.

6 of the best 14 scorers in the game are Man City attackers. Phenomenal once cogitated..SamD wrote:Sortable table on Bramernic site shows best 19 scorers are strikers and midfielders, all with 30+ points:

+3 Liverpool and 5 sole representatives from their clubs in top 14. Norwich and Spurs squeak two into top 19. Need to go down to 73rd to find the 2nd Arsenal name.
Watford doing well to have 5 of the 8 on negative scores.

Re: TFF chit chat 28th, 29th and 30th September
It’s these mid/striker stats that make me worry less about having loads of enablers (well more than I normally would). I need to get rid of Emerson and Zinchenko, (already have the Leicester bloke alongside TAA) but this crap has allowed me to have Sterling, Salah, KDB, Tamsin and Aguero. Given the current trend of most teams conceding I’m half tempted to just leave it and try and get Mahrez in!murf wrote:6 of the best 14 scorers in the game are Man City attackers. SUPER 16s DEADLINE APPROACHING
"The deadline to opt-in to Super 16s is 23:59 on Monday, September 30, 2019."
From memory you have to nominate one and only one of your teams to play.
Memory doesn't stretch to whether there is a prize or not. Used to be a free entry which is errrr about as good as the prize pot gets.
EDIT - "There are no prizes for Super 16s, it's just another way to test your fantasy management skills and add to your enjoyment of the season."
So... feel free to ignore this post. I've nominated a team for the hell of it but really don't care.

So is Lanzini fit again? I got rid of him from everywhere last weekend.

Apparently he is training and his foot doesn't hurt.Spinynorman wrote:So is Lanzini fit again? I got rid of him from everywhere last weekend.
Can't speak for Lanzini but I'm training as well and my foot doesn't hurt either but apparently that isn't good enough for me to get in the West Ham team. Although I am starting at centre back for Watford tomorrow.

Tempting but you don't appear to have been added to the player list yet.

Re: TFF chit chat 28th, 29th and 30th September
Liverpool XI unchanged (from last weekend)
Divock Origi returns to the bench after recovering from an ankle issue. No Keita though (played 60 in midweek).
Liverpool: Adrian, Alexander, Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
Subs: Kelleher, Lovren, Milner, Gomez, Oxlade, Chamberlain, Lallana, Origi.
The Blades also unchanged from last weekend, but David McGoldrick (groin) and Billy Sharp (suspended) will play no part.
Sheff Utd XI: Henderson, Basham, Egan, O'Connell, Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens, Robinson, McBurnie.
Subs: Moore, Luke Freeman, Jagielka, Mousset, Osborn, Clarke, Besic

I thought Lanzini was out for a little while, took him out last week for Mount
Got to work out what to do with Emerson. Can go up to £3.5m
Maybe best option is Jota/ Emerson Lanzini/ Pukki

I wouldn't buy Lanzini. Chance he could have an ongoing issue. Cantwell and Abraham?SPR wrote:I thought Lanzini was out for a little while, took him out last week for Mount

GOAL Sheff Utd 0-1 Liverpool (70 mins)
Georginio Wijnaldum's well-hit volley goes through the hands of Dean Henderson and agonisingly creeps over the line

Been a couple on target but OPTA don't count them for some bizarre reason if they are blocked rather than saved.brencarr wrote:First Liverpool shot on target

No Jota (Wolves) in the squad. That forces my hand on a transfer that probably should have happened anyway.
