With Cahill out I'm pretty sure Christensen will start in the league. Hence the (unnecessary) rest tonight. Stay of execution. Too cheap not to have a Chelsea defender at that price.

Yep centre half who like to bring the ball upfield
He Should be allowed to play alongside Luiz - it’s hurting my eyes.

Right. That’s 37 minutes without a goal. Changes please. Hazard time. Having held on to Eden this long I can’t live with a blank tonight

Watching this Chelsea game (and other teams recently) reminds me of an old saying, which I'll adapt....

Second string players are like horse manure. Used in small amounts here and there they can be beneficial, but put together in large amounts and it's just a pile of sh*t

7 things have happened in the games tonight according to TFF Live. Unfortunately 5 of them concern non Premiership teams.

All we have is an Ayew goal (no 'assist') and an Arter yellow card (plus Bournemouth conceding I concede)

My 10 year old begged to be allowed to stay up and watch the game “at least until half time”. He’s just told me he wants to go to bed.

According to the BBC, Hazard, Christensen, Kante and Morata are on. Have Norwich lent them a sub or something?

A fourth sub is allowed in extra time.

I thought that only applies to goalkeeper save points? Rules suggest that but they are ambiguous. Oh no! I need a definitive answer if I’m going to watch pens (if they happen).

How did I not know that 4 subs are now allowed? Where on earth did this come from? Although, we all know that international friendlies where you change the whole team are always fantastic games, so maybe this is the way forward. Change the line up every 15 minutes.

I read that as being under “goalkeepers and defenders only” but think you reading is correct. Sadly...

"Points are not awarded for penalty shoot outs"
Bit misleading that they put it under the sub-heading 'goalkeepers/defenders only'

I’ll get my lawyers on to it in the morning. I modelled my team all season around this game going to penalties.

It was brought in last season, but only from the QFs onwards, with Man City using it in the semi-final.
This year, the rule applied from the first round.

A case of being careful what you wish for as your striker comes off the bench, misses a sitter and then gets a red card

And who was the first fourth sub used? Clue - he's been talked about a lot in the last 24 hours!
