Thought my best score of 61 was quite good. It dropped....

Two of my season-longs have broken the 1,000pts barrier. Don't remember doing this after 19 match-weeks before. Could be a record breaking scoring season in TFF since the 38 game PL?

Not the boost I thought I was going to get in terms of moving up the leader board.

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
Quick question...Could one of the current leaders actually win this (based on historic events) or are they always reeled in?
Scoring at the top doesn't appear to be slowing down.

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
My answer, based on no facts to quote, is no. I think TFF history is replete with teams that have emerged from way down. In my only successful season-long I finished 7th having been about 6,000th at this time last year. The winner in that season emerged in March.

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
I think it's fair to say the winning team this season has already eclipsed the 1000pts barrier, unless those not far off this milestone are sitting on a heap of transfers and are about to unleash a barrage of moves that are nailed to perfection

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
Cheers Latic... I've finished 77th before with a late run, but had never really studied the leaders. Are we suggesting the leaders might be down to last few transfers....and with injuries might end up fielding only 6 or 7 players.

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
Hard to say. Some others will have more informed opinion than me.
Impressive scores, points in the bag, surely not transfer rich though. Some will f**k up their chances by burning transfers trying to keep up.
The FA cup final is an extra game week, so sometimes extra transfers can assist.

Interesting that he still had 17 transfers left at Christmas...but probably more key, that he chanced the block defence.

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
Cheers YE. Not seen that for a long time! AndyE nailed it, don't think I've seen a season like it since though.
The season after that was when I had my best season-long.
The rules change over the years but they're the same for all of us.
Looked up my old team. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=42749
Was talking booshee in one of my previous posts. I was 1,200th at this time in that season.

Re: TFF chit chat 22nd and 23rd December
High scoring gameweek. Thought my scores were ok. Sterling, double Chelsea defence or city defenders, Kane, salah. No united clean sheet.
Guess most have those though and bigger scores came from Aguero and a Liverpool double up. Or did they come from a lot making a few transfers through the day.
Kane to Firminho for the 3-0 looking likely for me.

I'm still 40-60 points off the top 100 with several teams,
but hope that the telegraph 'spoon-feeding' transfers on their twitter feed has led to major overusage

Re: Mid- vs end-season
It's Sandor that's the issue. With his 45 point lead. He's obviously used a lot of transfers early doors as he was the overall leader after week 4 (per the 'graph' thread). After week 4 he had averaged 85 points per week, while the national average after 4 weeks was 42 points. Any guess how many transfers used to achieve that ?. I'm thinking he has a city block defence ?SamD wrote: ↑24 Dec 2017, 02:46 Points comparisons, last three TFF seasons
