TFF chit chat 1st, 2nd and 3rd November
Good morning all, SpinyMorgan here again with this week match previews.
Saturday
12:45 Newcastle United v Liverpool
This week's early fixture sees the in-form Newcastle take on the no-so-in-form Liverpool. All eyes will be on Super Mario again but why always him?
15:00 Arsenal v Burnley
Alexis Sanchez appears to be the number one points magnet in this one though I feel Danny Ings may have an impact against the sometime shaky Arsenal back four. Possible sicknotes for Wilshere and Gibbs
15:00 Chelsea v QPR
Top v second bottom so there can only be one winner here... can't there? Costa rumoured to be starting but did you keep hold of him? Keep an eye on Rio's Twitter feed for all the latest ludicrous comments.
15:00 Everton v Swansea City
Toffees v Swans. Goals could come from Lukaku or Bony. Assists could come from Baines or Sigurdsson (or is he injured).
15:00 Hull City v Southampton
All about ships - part 2. Pelle still playing like Pele and a stout defence make Soton slight favourites in this one.
15:00 Leicester City v West Bromwich
Leicester haven't scored in a while whereas Berahino can't stop scoring. Leicester don't really do clean sheets either. Away win.
15:00 Stoke City v West Ham United
The rufty tufty Pottery Boys at home versus the Hammers. Both teams sound well 'ard but who'll win? Big Crouchy was a bit too rufty tufty in the Cup this week so sits this one out. Bardsley will be along side him on the naughty step.
Sunday
13:00 Manchester City v Manchester United
Neither team in the best of form but world class Rooney makes his return and could make a world of difference.
16:00 Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur
What can you say about this one...?
Monday
20:00Crystal Palace v Sunderland
This week's MNF sees a couple of the lower placed teams go head-to-head. Sunderland really need PVA to glue together their leaky defence.
So there you have it... The Real SpinyNorman is back next week (thankfully!)
Good luck and may all your transfers be good ones!

I will say something.morganb wrote:16:00 Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur

Villa are going to get beat by 3 or more goals, they won't score (again), and flat track bully Lamela will be MOTM, scoring a goal of the season contender.

Newcastle: run fast at the defence until in or close to the box, then fall over.
Liverpool: play short passes on the half way line until losing the ball, then repeat.
Shot on target would be nice?

What a dull first half TFF wise. Mind you I'd be happy with no more goals at the KC.

Re: TFF chit chat 1st, 2nd and 3rd November
Thinking about it, it infuriates me that TFF selected Sanchez as a Striker and thus providing him with a 7.0m price tag. He's the major bright spark in this Arsenal side, having played RWF (like Walcott often dows), LWF (Like Cazorla/Ozil have played) and is now in the number 10 role. As a midfielder he would be an absolute must have, even if placed in the top bracket (e.g. 5.8m).
Assuming Wenger continues to adopt a Flamini/Arteta midfield (at least while Kos is out) Chambers will prove to be a very strong enabler, but won't be guaranteed games in about a month's time. Sanchez truly is a phenomenal player to watch. Shame the same can't be said for the rest of the side.
Despite the scoreline a very bright first half for The Arsenal.

Re: TFF chit chat 1st, 2nd and 3rd November
I disagree, the price tag is very much determined by the position of the player. Sanchez plays in almost an identical position to Hazard, but is far more direct. Alexis is not a striker, in the same way Walcott is not a striker. Both players when fit are major point scorers. Just in the same way Yaya Toure would never have been priced 7.0m as a midfielder even though he accrued more points than most strikers (of that bracket) last season.
