I am a new member and I swear, on pain of ITFC never being promoted again, I am not trying to reopen this debate.Billy Whiz wrote:I thought someone should put this into the Fiso Classics forum before it gets lost ...

Can I add when I first heard this question posed I was firmly in the no camp.
I saw this exact question on tv, on mythbusters, the other day. They proved first with a model plane and with a real one, single prop 2 man job, that the plane would take off!
For all the pilots out there the pilot of the real plane had 20 years flying and he thought it wouldn't fly and was amazed when it did.
The reasons given for it being able to fly were the ones given by the FISOers, congrats for being brainy enough to work it out without seeing it, I know I wouldn't have.
Can I just add awesome thread, much amusement had reading it all. I would recommend it to anyone with a few spare hours, a gap in Olympic coverage and a hated of daytime tv.

It was on tv, I can't find a link to a tv show! It was on the discovery channel or something like that a few weeks ago but I don't know if the show was a repeat or not.
Another link to try and convince the flat earthers among you!

Still not having it.
In that clip the plane is moving forward relative to the ground so it will obviously take off.
If you read the question in the first post it suggests that no matter how fast it tries to go and how fast the wheels spin the conveyor belt will go equally as fast the other way so it wont move and wont take off you stupid effers
