Re: IANOVICH CAR CRASH THREAD - HE'S OKAY BTW
If Ian is reading this I just wan't let him know that things could have been a whole lot worse. Some people are born just plain unlucky (or stupid). You will realise what I mean after you read this.
In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from North western University. On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephant's foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away.
Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.
Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.
Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder.
The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.........Probably wasn't the same elephant.

Re: IANOVICH CAR CRASH THREAD - HE'S OKAY BTW
He was (as expected) a rotten patient. Desperate to get home asap. Eventually he has arrived home, and last night was flat on his back - headset on and calling New York to arrange Conference Calls for work. Aside from the fact that he cant move and the only part of him that doesnt hurt are his ears, he is the same old character... Im told he was less than thrilled to wake up to find Gary had added the following graffiti to his leg casts:SunderlandFan wrote:Hey Mike/Karrde, have you heard anymore about Ian?
Would be good to know how his spirits are.
I love Chelsea
Derby are shyte
Apparently he wanted to get on Fiso last night, but they cant figure out how to get his laptop into a position where he can see the screen and type without lifting his arms - His idea was to suspend it on a tray, hung by ropes from a pully
He then (via Gary) asked if I was still losing at Poker.
Obviously at that point I ended the conversation
Edit:
(and while his foot is in a mess - the ankles have had to be reset twice, Gary admitted to some "poetic license" with the bit about it spinning round loads and loads of times )

I thought it best to get the ok from the man himself.
When he's up for (and wants) visitors I will of course be happy to go and get graffiting on his casts

I had wisdom teeth out last week and I was back on FISO within an hour. I guess women just have a higher pain threshold. Men are delicate things.

I got my finger trapped in a pusher motor once,
eventually got my finger out only for the top to droop to one side, being held on by some skin.
but I did manage to hold it on and lock the machine back up
then I went into headless chicken mode.

What's up with ianovich?
I stubbed my toe today and it hurt like hell but 4 hours later I came round and was back on FISO although I'm not sure I can risk walking yet.
All ianovich had was a bit of a scrape.

I just realized that Ianovich conveniently had his "accident" at around the same time that the economy went tits up.
I reckon Ianovich is really absent from FISO because he's bigger off quickly to a secret retreat in the Maldives with a ton of stolen treasury bonds stuffed down his trousers and a suitcase full of gold bullion
