Amazon Prime Day

Post by Beerfuelledman »

Anyone else prowling for deals? I updated my 1st Gen Kindle to a paperwhite so please with that.
The Echo at £70 off is also tempting but I have a Dot.

I'd noticed the big cut in the price of the Echo. Can only assume a new model is just around the corner with that size of reduction.

What exactly do they do? Are they just a Bluetooth speaker as I already have a Bose Sound Dock which produces great quality sound for such a small speaker.

Yes, the Echo is an all in one unit, an echo dot with a speaker. The Echo Dot works quite well with a second speaker. I have a Bose Soundtouch 10 and a Dot. But I have to turn on the Soundtouch and tell the dot to pair first, which is more of a pfaff than walking into the room and saying "Alexa play 80's music". The prime music appeals a little too, for one Amazon device its £3.99 for 40m songs (£7.99 across all devices). Better than £9.99 for 30m on Spotify :?

Amazon Prime Day

Hmm...that could make getting one worthwhile.

Selling the Dot for £34.99 as well. Can connect this to the Bose and it will pay for itself after 6 months of Amazon music at £3.99.

Cheers bfm. :)

Have been getting acquainted with Alexa this evening.
Love it.

When Sonos finally release their update it will come in to its own. But at the moment the novelty of it is great.

I've never been that sure Amazon Prime is worth it. TBH I find RM 1st class perfectly acceptable as its free.
