What the eff is wrong with people...???
I know this goes crazy in the US but why have us Brits started acting like a bunch of morons as well??
I never remember this sort of publicity or controversy in the past.

Black Friday....load of total bollocks. Bad enough having Halloween imported and we don't need Black Friday.
Well I don't as I'm a miserable git. What is wrong with rushing out on Christmas Eve to buy presents?

Can't believe so many of this type of shopper are out of bed so early - thought they would be either on or watching Jeremy Kyle

Re: Black Friday
Just had an enjoyable perusal in the wine department in a French supermarket. Not a sniff of anything to do with black Friday. Thank Gawd.
Then everything turned a bit different when I reached the ferry port.
All you Ukippers will be pleased to know the French customs were out in force. Dogs guns and butch women. I think the Cameron speech might have motivated them.
Needless to say I got pulled over for the full check. Dog sniffer goes through all my stuff and crushes my trilby in the process.
It's not very often they are as keen as this. They are checking everybody.
Maybe they should use this system for people entering the supermarkets on black Friday.

Re: Black Friday
Pathetic scenes
All this for a TV reduced from 219 quid to 139 quid.
They could have sat at home with a cup of tea and got it on the internet for less.
Arrest all of them and publicly humiliate them.

Re: Black Friday
I was in the market to replace my Samsung tv.
I tried the Currys website, about 1 hour wait just to get on the site.
Tried PC World (same company, same products) and had no waiting time.
Panasonic 50' 4k 3D delivery tomorrow for £1299.00 (including £200 off fof Black Friday) job done.
Not seen it anyway Amazon, ebay, John Lewis for less than that.
Hope it arrives in time for the kick off at the Hawthorns.

Tesco are said to be a bit ashamed at all the controversy so they have already recruited someone to promote and organise it next year - Eddie Hearn.TheTon wrote:What the eff is wrong with people...???

There's something called online shopping.

My wife went to Asda this afternoon and paid £7.28 for a packet of cheese that should have been £6.00 now that is black Friday!! Don't think she has quite got the hang of the concept yet.

Re: Black Friday
Having said all that the music industry might have got the right idea with some decent releases which aren't discounted but are collectable. Have a look here - probably only available in decent indie record shops and not on-line.
http://www.recordstoreday.co.uk/exclusi ... iday-2014/
And there is also a new vinyl release campaign starting Monday called the 12 days of Christmas with a rare piece of vinyl being released each day from 1st December.

Re: Black Friday
Quite. With a bit of luck we'll be importing the right to have guns as well from our friends over the Pond, so we can shoot all these Black Friday-ers. Just so long as it doesn't all come with US sports.Surprised wrote:Black Friday....load of total bollocks. Bad enough having Halloween imported and we don't need Black Friday.

Why don't they just restrict it to online?

Re: Black Friday
My understanding of the origins of this is that it's the sales after thanksgiving in the states like we do ours here after Christmas?
Have I missed something or have we suddenly started celebrating thanksgiving?
What next? NFL games at Wembley?
By the way, guess who just bought tickets for the kids (and me ) to go see WWE at the O2 next April
