Anyone ever had one done...or had one priced up?

Yes had 1 done a few years ago and do the electrics in a 5-10 per year, with the building regs in place you have to have so much insulation it will set you back around 10k as a ball park figure.

Insulation? is yours a free standing garage I'm assuming, the one I'm considering is integral.

Really doesn't matter, it's down to the building inspector, last month I was at a job (internal garage) where the floor and outside walls had to have 100mm of insulation (Like Kingspan), this was in outer London each council does vary though.Darbyand wrote:Insulation? is yours a free standing garage I'm assuming, the one I'm considering is integral.

Just improving my flat garage roof a fw months ago, I had to put in 100mm of insulation cos it also covered a 'living area' (hall and downstairs bog) so can't see how you could get out of it if converting. All due to the Building Regs of course and good luck selling if you do it without telling anyone....
