Taking yer old maw out for her birthday tomorrow night to a particularly expensive city centre restaurant. It's a Scottish restaurant and I see that pheasant is on the menu. Anyway, my motto when it comes to food is always 'try anything once' so am considering it. Thing is, I don't want to ruin my meal. What's it like then

That's a shoo-in for my starter, washed down by Irn Bru.

The breast meat is delicious - chicken / duck, avoid the rest especially the wing.

It's quite a strong flavour - a bit smoky. Duck isn't far off. I reckon you won't like it first time - bit of an acquired taste.
