Yer old maw's strictly a white wine woman. Oh well, have to batter the rioja all by myself then. :D
cunning plan ... that way the pheasant will become secondary either way
Exactly. That means I get not one, but two burds on the one night.
sweet. and in keeping with the spanish theme give the Dirty Sanchez a go when you get back to the hotel 8-)

Breast is best!

wrapped in parma ham, served with a garlic, onion and port sauce...so I believe.

or

breast stuffed with haggis served in a whisky cream sauce

quite a rich/strong tasting bird, but not as strong as woodpidgeon.

Didn't go for the pheasant in the end, decided against the old bird. Went for the venison instead, and very nice it was too. 8-)

I quite liked pheasant when I tried it - a bit like Chicken but a little richer. Unfortunately I got a bit worse for wear and 10 pints later at about 3aqm the pheasant ended up on the pavement on the way back to my gaffe  :D

Actually I think Hooch didn't come out until I was at Uni but could be wrong. I don't mind the odd Wkd or Smirnoff Ice after a few beers.

When I was a kid my old man saw a pheasant in the road and he was trying to run it down without actually running it over (number plate to the head) but it ran for cover and we ended up in the ditch

No idea why I wrote that 10 years ago!

But.....

I found out the pheasants round here are hatched in Yorkshire from eggs laid in France. Although the ones that escape the posh ****'s guns have bred in my neighbours' gardens! (Daren't in my garden with my dog around - only killed 3 so far).
