Roses or Quality Street?
Roses, in my opinion, are far superior to Quality street.

Re: Roses or Quality Street?
Quality Street would be great if they got rid of the long thin hard toffees, the oval shaped even harder toffees and the stupid round hard toffees that aren't even covered in chocolate... or at least two of the three!
All the selections have some crap ones in them. Although I did find a Cadbury's outlet store recently which had pick 'n' mix wrapped sweets like Roses, Chocolate Orange etc. which I hadn't seen anywhere since the demise of Woolworths... probably 10 times the price per chocolate of the Christmas tubs though!

Nobody likes Bountys in Celebrations, yet whenever you point out they are the only ones left, someone always pipes up saying they do.

Celebrations should be disliked on principle as they are just miniature bars and not proper chocolates like wot they should be but they actually work very well. Better than Heroes and maybe on a par with Roses.

Re: Roses or Quality Street?
They destroyed Heroes when they got rid of the really nice Crunchie ones, added the unseasonal Creme Egg then tipped in a bag of Eclairs as cheap filler.

Dunno why toffees which add a bit of variety have been given the "baddie" tag in this thread. The worst are the vile so called "creams", especially orange and strawberry, coffee isn't so bad though.

Because nobody over 18 trusts their teeth with them so they sit in the bottom of the tin until there's nothing else left?Striker wrote:Dunno why toffees which add a bit of variety have been given the "baddie" tag in this thread.
One toffee for variety is fair enough, but why three almost identical ones in one selection...

Too many sweet ones in Roses for liking. More like sweets than chocolate. Quality Street all the way.
Mind you if After Eights are going round, forget the both of them!

Quality Street and Roses are both a bit shit (only a couple i like in each).
And if someone was asking, Heros over Celebrations for me (but both surpass the survey options).

The toffee penny is aptly named, as it's as pointless as the actual 1p coin, and just like its monetary namesake only survives for nostalgia reasons... there's not even any chocolate on it FFS!golden bear wrote:Quality Street - because of the delicious toffee selection.murf wrote:Quality Street - just - let down by excessive inclusion of dull toffees

They are always the first to go in out house.Tacalabala wrote:Nobody likes Bountys in Celebrations, yet whenever you point out they are the only ones left, someone always pipes up saying they do.
Qualty Street and Roses are both made from quite cheap chocolate (look them up on wiki) and to be honest taste like it. Used to like them as a child, but much too sweet for my taste now.
At least with the Heroes and Celebrations you get the same chocolate as the bars. Ony problem with them is that they have both dropped quite a few flavours in recent years.
Heros have dropped flake, Crunchie and Fruit and nut (amongst others) and Celebrations have dropped Topic (my favorite) amongst others. On the plus side Heroes have added Toblerone.
We have actually gone back to fun sized bars. Filling up old tins with whatever fun size bars you like. That way you only get the ones you like.
Also Lint balls. You got to have quality chocolate at Christmas and you don't get much better than Lindor Balls.
