Have to admit I'd prefer a 40 quid whisky for 30 than a basic one for 20.

I'll wait for the Quarter Cask rather than get a cheap version.

Jura 16yo. Hmmm.....

I've had it before and it is quite good but I have a(n inferior) Superstition on the go so don't want to over-Jura.

Checking my cupboard I've also got a Talisker Storm and a Laphroaig Quarter Cask unopened from previous sales so, along with my annual bottle of LBV Port and my beer advent calendar, I'm sorted for the time being!!!

Did finish my Bunny the other day so will keep an eye open for a cheap one....

Saw that. Couldn't believe the price for a young whisky that hasn't had anything special done. Reviews aren't great. Love Laphroaig and would want to try it but not even at 60 quid.

Heard good reviews myself. Question is do I drink now or hold for 3 or 4 years and get an approx 20% return?

Just watching last night's Winterwatch (BBC2) and they had an outside broadcast from the Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay!

Not watching bunnies (ahem) but otters. Some nice shots with the distillery as a backdrop.

Mrs Spiny called me in to watch this. Didn't realise that the Jura mountains were so near by.

The problem I found with buying booze from Amazon is that, due to age restriction laws, you have to be in to take delivery... no collection option, either, so unless you’ve got the next week off, or someone in your household at home all day, you’re just trusting it to luck.

Guess that’s a possibility once in a while, but they’re not really keen on personal deliveries as people tend to take the piss e.g. having all their Christmas shopping sent there (and apparently one instance of someone having a mattress delivered to the office, a few years ago!)

Talisker Storm cheap on Amazon today and, after getting the Quarter Cask the other day I bought a cheap Bunny special edition in Booths for £26 yesterday. So, do I give in to Black Friday and buy my 3rd bottle of the week.....?

Luckily I have a Storm in reserve - that Lagavulin price is too hard to resist - look at the money you have saved so far - the Lagavulin is, in effect, free.

why would you turn down a freebie?

I know - better check I don't have one in reserve though (I know I have a spare Quarter Cask in the cupboard (and one on the way) but my current bottle is nearly empty).

Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold keeps bouncing in between £25 and £39 in Tesco. It's a very nice drink indeed when it's £25. :)
