nudist beaches
me and mrs banana always like to go somewhere u can go au naturel...
we were v impressed with playa del ingles at gran canaria this year. a truly cosmopolitan environment.
despite the name it seems that the awful 'brits-abroad' have left this location and infected puerto-rico just up the coast, instead.... leaving the afore-mentioned resort 2 broad minded europeans like wot we are.
anyway... p-d-i is uber cool!
any more suggestions 4 good places 2 holiday from the fiso-nudist-community?

Re: nudist beaches
We stayed at the Katarina hotel a couple of years ago and took a walk across the dunes with our two 8 year olds (without realising there was a nudist area there)
That was a bloody eye opener
Much hilarity ensued with the kids pointing out the obvious

Re: nudist beaches
Last couple of years I've stayed at 'Club Magic Life Fuerte Ventura' - nudists all the way along the 40 minute walk to the main town, including lots of little 10-foot-wide circles of built up stones so you can go au naturel in sort of private. Brilliant hotel too, fabulous food, lovely grounds, lots of sporty activities each day, highly recommended. Happy to answer any questions if you're interested in going there.
PS Hotel has it's own nudist spa apparently, but I've never been there so can't comment on that.

Las Palomas Gran Canaria was an eye opener and then someplace on the Black Sea in Romania where a well hung local nearly ruined my back story (not literally) as I had always told my wife I was larger than average.

I don't understand why the nudists use the stone circles. I would have though the point of being a nudist is to flaunt it?

Well, personally I quite like to get an all-over tan, but have no desire whatsoever for the world and his dog to see that happening!Brightwater wrote:Been there, and going again in May...my budgie smugglers stayed on.scarletjim wrote:Last couple of years I've stayed at 'Club Magic Life Fuerte Ventura' - nudists all the way along the 40 minute walk to the main town, including lots of little 10-foot-wide circles of built up stones so you can go au naturel in sort of private. Re: nudist beaches
Always intrigued me this.
Why the need to do it?
Not as if wearing shorts is overly restrictive.
Admittedly I've never done it, so maybe id feel invigorated if I did - but as it stands, I don't see the attraction.

Stumbled upon a nudist beach on Maggie Island in Oz - we were the youngest people on the beach by about 30 years. Not pleasant.
Skinny dipping is ace, but lying on a beach bollocky with nothing but old wrinkled Germans for company isn't my idea of a good time.

Re: nudist beaches
I have unpleasant memories of holidaying with my 4 kids when they were little on the windswept Costa Brava near to Cadaques where we were desperate (as you are with 4 little kids) for some relaxed entertaining fun.
Spotting a small isolated cove from the road seemingly only accessible by Yak, we set off down a treacherous rocky cliff path with buckets, spades, rubber rings, sandwiches, ice box, lilos etc. Half way down amongst the whinging and crying and sore arms and sore feet and baking sun and thorns and rocks and broken glass I wanted to murder the whole family and I probably could have with a few deft trips and shoves, but with true British grit I kept going and managed to get us all safely down to the beach
Which as you have probably guessed was wall to wall old brown leather scrotums and flaps

Re: nudist beaches
So does the general consensus of naturist holiday goers make more of an effort with the downstairs hedges these days or are they all full bush sporting tree huggers?

Re: nudist beaches
Most of the ones I've seen do tend to keep themselves 'tidy' down there.
Lying on a beach with Mrs Sted before the kids came along. I was on my back, turned over onto my stomach without looking.
"Do you want a sandwich" she asked
I opened my eyes, and there were a pair of female feet about one foot from each side of my head.......akimbo!
That old dear had definitely been on the industrial Immac
I politely turned the sandwich down
(yes, it was ham)

Re: nudist beaches
indeed. reckon a good smooth pubic zone is de-rigueur on zeeez dehzzz. it was certainly noted, by mrs b and moi-self, that those without the unsightly fluff were far more at ease and lovely at p-d-i...sted wrote:Most of the ones I've seen do tend to keep themselves 'tidy' down there.
jpk makes an interesting point tho... but look at in reverse ....... matron..ooo..err...
think of us nudists walking bleedin' miles to find some secluded rocky cove which the guide book hints is naturist.... and lo-&-behold after an hour trek it is full of textiles...
i hired a soddin' speedboat from laatchi in nw cyprus in 2006 to get some all over sun-worshipping with the then miss banana... and buggar me ... there was a bloody family on the uber-remotest beach at the nw tip of the agamas... ... talk about shag-blowing
nope. it's gotta be an official nude beach 4 us now. no more of this trekking round rockscapes that look like sets off dr who meets the cybermen.
