Slowly - I'm just about to rebuild my clan castle so I'll reapply to the Fiso clan

I supplied them with all of the info about my old village but they just told me to login to my gmail account which has my new feeble village :)

Any good tips on this game I can give my 8 year old in a desperate attempt to gain his respect?

Hmm - catchy name. It must be because I have two villages :)

I'll ask them to change my name once I'm in the clan

Don't waste gems early on - you'll need them later on to buy a new builder

Upgrade the barracks to unlock new troops

Upgrade your walls early on

Don't leave gaps in your village - attackers will jump in

Go to the clash of clans wiki

Hahaha, sorry. We did discuss it but the name was a bit odd! If it makes you feel any better I also rejected my daughter originally.

Don't worry, that goes after, I think, 24 hours or so. My daughter had that when I rejected her.

Dr B - my 8 year old wants to know:

- Why put the town hall in an easy to attack position?
- Why train so many goblins?

Thanks!

One of the most important aspect of the game is collecting loot and spending it before someone attacks you and takes it. When you're attacked a shield goes up so nobody else can attack you for a set time.

You also get 'trophies' for winning attacks to climb leaderboards and get promoted to higher leagues.

So putting your townhall outside your walls gives attackers an easy win and you only loose a small amount of loot in the process. The benefit for the attacker is easy points the benefit for the defender is a shield goes up without losing much loot.

Goblins target elixir and gold and are very very fast but weak so one tactic is to clear out the defences then send the goblins in to clean up before the timer runs out.

Can't see any request yet Jim...

As for the questions:

A) it was a suggestion I was given by a clan member that has worked really well. A lot of lower ranked players will attack (and have) just the TH giving them a star and trophies and me a long bout of shield protection. In exchange they don't worry about my other buildings like storage or mines. I've only had one or two full attacks out of the last couple of dozen which is fine if you're not worried about protecting your trophies.
B) I'm trying out a couple of tactics at the moment as all I need is gold to upgrade my walls. I've tried the "barcher" attack but now I'm just tying to punch holes into unprotected/badly protected storages, I'm not worried about trophies. In fact I'd like a few less to make attacks easier. I'm not sure the goblin heavy tactic is working that well but it's a work in progress.

Hope that helps.

A big CoC update is coming out today:

http://forum.supercell.net/showthread.p ... neak-Peeks

Notably, no more tied wars also:
  1. Lightning bolts will now strike closer together.
  • Level 6 lightning will now be available at TH9.
  • Level 5 and level 6 lightning now do increased damage.
  • Poison spell now works more like an inferno, starts off dealing small amounts of damage, but builds up to di mighty damage and take down even the strongest of foes.
  • Poison spell now lowers defending troops attack speed as well.
  • EQ spell does lots more damage initially, but repeated use in the same spot decreases the amount of damage dealt. It still requires 4 spells at any level to knock down any level of wall.
  • 25 new wall pieces unlocked at TH10.
  • Level 11 walls look has totally changed, however the HP and cost remains the same.
