Memory copying

Post by Zimmerman »

Not sure if this should be here or in the computer forum;

My mate is replacing his PS3. Can he copy across all his data and saved games etc (namely COD and Pro Evo).

Is this possible? Could you do it with a memory stick ( or is it going to need Assisi e external drive)? Or can the two systems be wire directly?

Yes, you can back most things up at least. Downloaded games can be downloaded again so that might make the task smaller, assuming he/she is happy to do so.

USB sticks can be used, provided they're big enough of course.
You can transfer directly between two PS3s too:

I used this method, works like a charm.

Otherwise, if he just wants to transfer saved game data he can upload it to the playstation network and it's tied to his PSN account.
