I guess no Fulham supporters are on FISO? Anyone seen any friendlies that can let me know if Frei is being used at all?

Frei will continue to be a sub but will probably be used increasingly during the season

I think you'll be better of going for Hughes (4.5 as well), although he has an ankle injury now and should be back in training in a week's time.checkii wrote:is Kelly going to keep his starting role this season?
This will probably be their strongest 11, when Dempsey leaves that is (presumably, Jol has stated Dempsey won't start against Norwich...for whatever reason that might be as I read they throw it on him not being fit enough to make an appearance...):
Schwarzer
Riether - Hughes - Hangeland - Riise
Dembélé - Diarra
Duff - Ruiz - Rodallega
Petric
Kačaniklić will probably replace Rodallega in the first game(s) as the latter is a few weeks away still from match fitness.

Re: Fulham 2012/13 General Chat & Starting X1 Thread
Fulham slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic at Craven Cottage in their final pre-season friendly of the summer on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites dominated the first half and went in front after just five minutes through Damien Duff.
But the Addicks hit back in the second period to snatch the win after efforts from Johnnie Jackson and Yann Kermorgant.
In the behind-closed-doors friendly, Martin Jol named a strong starting line-up against Championship Charlton, perhaps hinting at the XI that will take to the field against Norwich City next weekend in Fulham’s opening game of the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League season.
With Aaron Hughes absent through injury, Chris Baird partnered Brede Hangeland at centre-half, with Sascha Reither and John Arne Riise taking up the full-back positions. Mark Schwarzer was between the sticks.
The midfield comprised of Duff, Mahamadou Diarra, Mousa Dembele and Alex Kacaniklic, with Bryan Ruiz tucking in behind the Mladen Petric.

Dempsey is one of the most picked players, but when did he last take part in pre-season?
I am fairly certain he has not played for Fulham on the recent tour. With no pre-season and being a contract rebel he could be not selected at the weekend, and even if Liverpool buy him this week...would he even be match fit?

They got him from FC Koln in the summer on a free I think.
Although they did get relegated.
Apparently first choice, but i have never seen him play, and he is untested in the prem.

He is so cheap, for a regular in a reasonable defence £3m in TFF) and Jol hasn't bought many duds....
Are Riise's attacking points worth 500k?

Re: Fulham 2012/13 General Chat & Starting X1 Thread
That's the kind of question I am asking myself about 3.4 defenders to 3.0 this season.
3.4 look secure, but the 3.0 defender allows a stronger midfield. I am still tinkering with this.

£3.4m is expensive for a defender for me this season. (Fabio, Boyce.....)
I think I need to change tack with the other teams?

Where exactly is Dembele likely to play?
Regularly tipped with moves to bigger clubs. Is he playing central mid?

Is this likely to be the first choice front 6 for Fulham team this season (Assuming there is no Dempsey)?
---Diarra----Dembele
Duff ---Ruiz---Rodalegga
--------Petric
If so with the loss of Murphy in central midfield for a more attack minded Dembele do we feel that Fulham's defence may suffer?

No expert but I posted the same expected line-up several posts up, based on browsing through Fulham forums.

Frei is a player I really like the look of for FFP - cheap, nippy, lots of potential... with Dempsey wanting out, will Frei get some starting roles this season or is he due another year coming off the bench?

Ah right

Looks like he wants to stay in England for his family and his relationship with his old manager Jol also seems to have been of influence.

If he does move to Fulham, I sooo hope he'll do well.
He deserves some joy after a very long time warming the bench for SAF.
