If you go to any of the price comparison sites and review the following:

Gas
Electricity
Broadband
Mortgage
Tv
Phone
Car insurance
House insurance
Contents insurance
Mobile deal
Switch credit debts

Then review

Shopping habits
Transport
Lunches
Smokes
Beer

Then anyone can save a grand a year

You only need to shave off a small % from each to do so - do the maths

You can give it your "out of touch" routine Tricky but I guarantee that it's all perfectly possible - and far from difficult

Do you really think people are on the best deals for the above?
Or could drink a pint less a day?
Or could make sarnies for work?
Do without Sky?
Do without those £8 a pack fags?

(boots meal deal is £3.80 - drink, crisps, sarnie)
But if you eat crisps and a soft drink each day you'll need less in your retirement fund.

You can have a smoothie and a muesli bar if that's your bag

So that's it. If you do all of the above you can afford to go to the match. The only problem is, you don't know which Ar*e is on show. There are hidden extras, after the match you can wait and watch all those footballers who were on the bench the entire match, jingling their car keys and racing off in to London Town for a night out. I'm sure. deep down, they appreciate your economising.

Though Wenger said its 50-50 for Wilshire to play on Sat, do think it very unlikely, Verm should be ok and fair chance Gibbs could be back for our Champ league game.

He's obviously back on the meths Mike as he came out with these two classics a few hours ago.

Amazed you overlooked his line about 'I could have bought Gareth Bale'.
Bale instead of Walcott? the least said, the better, for his part.
One day, if I have a spare few hours I will try to track back to every time he has said that about someone elses star player.

To be fair, both were very highly regarded and at the time Bale was a left back. Walcott was probably considered to be the best prospect with the most 'upside'. Back then not many (if any) would've predicted Bale to be the player he is now.

I haven't checked but is their a huge difference in their relative goals per game ?

If a miracle happened and we get past Bayern, I think we could as well :D to me at mo they are best team left in comp on present form. While would love to see us go through cant see it, though do hope to be proved wrong.

Was aware and was not best pleased, yes we put out our strongest team, but to even put him on bench let alone play him just madness, did not have any problem with him playing whole game against Brazil, he played well and it put him on world map, but he needs to be handled carefully, waited a lifetime to see a Londoner as good as him in our colours, but trhe others should have played. Wenger may not see FA cup way way above League cup, but I do and would be amazed if same was true of 90% of Afc fans.
Because of high cost of tickets son shares one he uses and it was not 1 of his Tuesday, so he spent hours on computer and spent money he cant really afford to buy a ticket, its just an insult to fans like him, so angry about whats gone on today.

I'm sure Arsene Wenger would have thought the side he picked today should have beaten Blackburn comfortably. It's not that he disrespected the cup imo, but the players didn't perform for him and that's the real question to answer today i'd guess.

Its not about winning or losing, the fans have shown him a loyalty that is not shown to any other manager in my view. Today to me he did not give them any respect. Its not a knee jerk reaction am sure if it was poss to go back a long time when he did similar in a United game (not the slaughter, I lived with that) wrote pretty much same as today.
When I saw team and the bench was furious that was before game kicked off, Tuesday is now been turned into a must win game and thats crazy, he needs to keep fans backing the players, thats not going to be happen now.

For future reference can you stick up what ACTUALLY IS Arsenals best 11 because i certainly ain't no Arsenal lover but i'd have money on the fact you had 7 first teams players start- 10 first team players on the pitch when it was 0-0, and 11 internationals on the pitch at the start.

I cannot fathom why you are bleating about a weakened team. Arsenal are playing Blackburn FFS who are 8th in the Championship, who were beaten 7-1 on their last visit to the library not to mention you have a CL game on Tuesday which will probably be a hiding.

Here's an interesting stat for you, Arsenal have failed to score in only two of their last 26 F.A CUP games at home- both of those have been against Blackburn

I would say that Arsenal's best XI is the following

Chezney (Can't spell his name)
Monreal
Kos
Vermaelen
Sagna
Wilshire
Arteta
Ox
Walcott
Podolski
Giroud

The only weak area in that team is central defence.

For a change i can't argue with that headline it's rare anyone agrees with something Wenger says.

I'm wondering now if Vermalen, Podolski and Wiltshire arrive at Arsenal in the same spaceship, and from same cloud that Wenger lives on, after reading these comments in todays paper after the humiliation at the weekend.

The German model regarding football is one that wished we followed, its not just Afc who could learn from them, if you look to see how ownership is balanced out, fans have big input.
Some of the stories from Sun and other media regarding us are pure invention, bit like there FF game marks.
No question we have big problems, but they are fixable from clubs own resources and thats not so with the majority of Prem clubs.
You support Pool and to me there are far more issues that should concern you regarding them, than ours

The best bit about Bayern is a cost of a matchday ticket and the availability to Joe public.

THEY play in red and white, moved to a new stadium in 2005, argue for Financial Fair Play and always return a profit.
They’ve not won a trophy in years. They charge around £100 a ticket.

And then there is Arsenal.

Bayern Munich visit the Emirates tomorrow as the Bundesliga’s super-team and Europe’s strongest club financially.

Debt-free and boasting the fourth- highest annual turnover in club football. Like Arsenal, Bayern charge £95 a ticket.

The thing is at Bayern that is for a SEASON TICKET not a single match.

The Allianz Arena holds around 71,000 — just over 67,000 for European matches because of UEFA restrictions.

There are only 35,000 season-ticket holders because Bayern want to expand their fan base, not just ensure money at the coffers.

Hoeness said: “If the same people come every week you don’t win over any more new fans.”

They keep 12,000 season-tickets very cheap. Standing tickets..

Bet that brings a tear to your eye Mike. It's an embarressment comparing with the Arsenal model.
infact everything is.

Said many times dont like way Football is set up here and think German model far better, but to ignore what happens regarding pricing at club you follow is a little strange to say the least, granted they dont have as high a max, but overall pricing at Pool is often just as expensive as us for Joe Public fan.
We are a London club and everything in entertainment field in London far greater than other areas of country, that drives me mad.
Not been involved with tickets for events for a while, but assume its not changed that much, outside of London in general was about 25% cheaper, so if thats still about right (assumption on my part) then it should be no surprise our pricing. Not saying makes it right, but understandable.

From todays Mail.

THE ONES THAT GOT AWAY 78 - The number of winner's medals amassed by 27 ex-Arsenal players since the club last won a trophy - the 2005 FA Cup.

That includes three Champions League titles, 27 domestic league championships and nine
F.A.Cups.

I think we'll learn a lot about the current Arsenal side tonight, whether they're with the manager or not.

From his strange press conference I can't help draw comparisons with McLarens umbrella and Taylors 'Do I not like that' moments. Will Arsene lose it in a mad professor moment or will his side ease the mounting pressure ?

I've got a feeling it might be a sad sight that greets us on the back pages tomorrow. :(
