Chambers has done well though so Clyne is not nailed on.

I admit FF wise, Clyne looks risky (someoene else said Clyne only missed games through injury, but...): thanks for Yoshida, assuming you are right

Likely back 4 please?

Currently have Yoshida in and if he does start, 4.5 is a steal...

We are rumoured to be looking at a keeper and at least one CB so keep an eye on it.

Boruc
Clyne Fonte Yoshy/Jos Bertrand

Fonte, Clyne and Bertrand are guaranteed starters with Yoshy just ahead of Jos although Jos is Dutch so Koeman may like him even though he's crap. This Saturday will reveal more as it's likely to be our full strength line up. We are desperately short of cover though having sold Lovren, Shaw and Chambers in addition to already being short before those transfers.

I heard a rumour that Katharina Liebherr was fed up with unhappyhoppy agitating for a move to Spurs and so has just offloaded him to Pompey.

I thought Boruc had a good season. Just proves that disloyalty works both ways.

Boruc is in the last year of his contract and is 34 (35 in Feb) and was inconsistent last year (Stoke and arsenal away farcical goals!) and out injured but he had no pressure for his place this will now give him competition and like most Premier clubs we now have 2 good keepers. Not having a good back up keeper cost us a lot of points last season.

Really couldn't say who will start hard to see us benching a £10m keeper but Boruc may keep his place for now.

Some thoughts from the game yesterday.

Defence is likely to be
Boruc/Forster
Clyne Fonte Yoshida Bertrand

We are playing 433 so only one DM in theory. Wanyama holds that position. Schneiderlin if he returns from sulking is likely to push further forward leaving Cork bench warming. (Last year of contract).

Tadic looks decent skilful and can pick a pass and is taking corners too. JWP is likely to get a lot more game time now and is our future, is on all FKs and corners. Davis is another who will play most as he is so reliable and consistent and a real team player. We do have a glut of central midfielders atm and not a lot of creativity. Goals is going to be a problem for us this year. Pelle is a bit of a lump holds the ball up and brings others in to play but he needs service especially from the flanks and we have no natural wingers.

So think we will be difficult to beat so good clean sheet potential but goals will be a problem until we sign someone or JRod returns.

So from that then, I imagine Pelle will not be owned by yourself then?

The only players I'm considering in TFF (the only game I play) are Clyne, Bertrand and Tadic.

After Liverpool we have a good run until Dec and I don't think we will be too bad defensively, we still have Fonte and Clyne from last year (+Boruc) with Bertrand a capable LB and Forster giving us a more reliable keeper, need another CB which we are close to getting, otherwise it's Yoshy/Jos and that spells trouble.

Goals is another matter.

Long term yes but would be harsh on Boruc to be dropped straight away. Can't see £10m being benched for long.

Now confirmed by Koeman that Forster is number 1 and Boruc needs to deal with it.

I though this summed it up well:

The terrible Robin Williams news has had a gut-wrenching effect today but turning to this thread and seeing a Consortium11 opus on his team... maybe everything will be alright after all. A salute to you you magnificent bustard.

Almost impossible say - 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Clyne is settled, Betrand new but more experienced. The defence / keeper set up is pretty much a wholesale change. Both, new blood aside, look nailed on starters

Bertrand is cheap in TFF. I have started Bertrand in some fantasy teams but not Clyne - based on this only.

Part of the 3 in a 433 likely to be on the left side behind Pelle.

Btw I'm expecting Clyne to have a very good season and push for an England call up at RB. I don't think there is a better English RB even now.
