Extremely disappointed with Klopp playing lovren and Allen tonight.
I was hoping never to see these two amongst a host of others never near the ist team picture again.

Re: Liverpool General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Unfortunately, Klopp has been left with several shite players that Rodgers bought. None of them are likely to be sold on as they are p*ss poor. They will no doubt see out their contracts and state they are" fighting for their place". It will take at least two years to be able to build his own squad, but in the meantime we'll have to see some shite playing. Have to agree that Lovren and the Welsh Xavi are amongst the worst of the bunch. Think the future looks good with klopp though.

Re: Liverpool General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Klopp has said there will be no major rebuilding and he will focus on improving with what he has got. Theory being the squad is better than Rodgers made them look.
Lovren was considered to be worth paying 20m for remember. OK, we know they overpaid but he was still a 12-15m player before Rodgers got his hands on him.
And, as for Joe Allen, well, he gives Lucas a rest.

Re: Liverpool General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Klopp spent far less whilst at Dortmund and bought far beter players. Lovren, Allen, Lallana, Balotelli and Moreno are not worth £10 million between them. One or two wisely bought players will transform the team in the next couple of years. No money will be incoming from Rodgers buys unless Coutinho is sold. He will go down in history as Liverpools worst ever manager, particularly where transfers are concerned.

If any idiot ever gives him a management position again in any division then they have to be a COMPLETE AND UTTER chap.

Re: Liverpool General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Here's one for all the true Liverpool (and Man U) fans on this thread. The long 'lost' wonder goal only recorded on police security cameras, 30 years ago today.
Exactly a year later and I went to Anfield for the first time and saw the big guy score again, and again, and again. A hat trick of penalties.
Tonight's alleged team:
Mignolet – Clyne, Touré, Lovren, Moreno – Milner, Lucas, Allen – Ibe, Firmino – Benteke.
Subs: Bogdán, Brad Smith, Connor Randall, Lallana, Emre Can, Cameron Brannagan, Sturridge, Origi.
Following on from the SAS and saturday's LFC front line, tonight it is BIF

Puts into perspective just how big a chap Rodgers was and still is, when it comes to the management game and getting the best out of the squad one assembles.
Rodgers is THE EMPERORS CLOTHES.
Liverpool have now played 22 games this season , 11 under each manager.
Hers is the record of each
Won. Rodgers 3 v 7 Klopp
Drawn. Rodgers 6 v 3 Klopp
Lost. Rodgers 2 v 1 Klopp
Scored. Rodgers 11 v 22 Klopp
Conceded. Rodgers 13 v 8 Klopp.
One could also point to the fact Liverpool, under Klopp, have had the harder games, winning away in Russia, thrashing Soton away with 6 goals and convincing thrashings away dished out to Chelsea and Man City. This too without Coutinho in several games, Sakho in most games (having to play the worst centre half in Liverpool's history in Lovren)
Klopp is obviously extracting the best out of the mediocre talent that Rodgers vastly overspent on. He certainly plays players In their correct positions that is obvious. Has no ego. Is in touch with players and fans and doesn't have delusions of grandeur.
Perhaps the most refreshing aspect of Klopps tenure so far are his interviews. No bollocks, total honesty, no avoiding questions.
Players also want to play for him as he treats everyone with equal importance.
Klopp is everything and more one could of hoped for in a manager.
The so called big 4 have dropped a clanger in not appointing Klopp.
They can have their Wenger, Pellegrini, Mourinho and Pan Faces.
Quote from last nite. "You cannot be in Liverpool because of the weather" quality.

I despise Joe Crab Allen but even I can acknowledge when he has played well.
How the eff the ALOGOFSHITE has him still on a rating of 6 is not even laughable but it is a eff joke of the highest proportion.
I guess it's waiting to give Greaseball his customary 7

Hoping Lovrens injury today is a seasonal thing as he offers absolutely nothing to any defence. Perhaps Klopp will buy a defender now and make a start in clearing out some of the the shit that Rodgers bought.
Here's hoping Mignolet is next to suffer an injury as going by today's report and recent calamitous performances he is and always has been, an accident waiting to happen. Shot stopper yes. Keeper? One can't be serious.

I hope now the penny has dropped with Klopp in that he now realises the dross Rodgers has assembled is not going to keep anyone in a job.
He must buy in January and disband this bag of shite.
I even found myself cheering Ighalos goals as my fantasy teams have more importance than the bulk of any Liverpool team h could presently send out.

I've just started running again after a 6 month lay off and have found it really hard at my age(67) to get back to some sort of fitness. Well this morning 4 of us ran - it was cold and wet and we ran for 70 minutes through mud, sh*t, floods, brambles and up and down hills in fact it was one of the worst runs I've done for ages.
Point is I enjoyed it more than watching Liverpool this afternoon.

Poor game so far today. With Henderson, Milner and Lallana taking shots, the safest place to stand is in the United goal. The sooner Klopp can make the team his own the better.

The only "shot" on target for Henderson was like a pass straight into the keepers hands. Absolute rubbish.

Since Klopp took over, Liverpool have created the most chances and taken the most shots of any team in the league. Not sure where we actually stand in terms of goals scored but it certainly ain't first. And that was before today.....

Reported in the Metro and Daily Star that Swansea are keen on resigning Joe Allen for £8 million. We should snap their arms off-he's not worth half that. Jokingly misnamed "The Welsh Xavi" by Rodgers. Would be a start on clearing out the garbage bought by "The Kings New Clothes".

Joe Allen scores against Exeter, which is to be expected as that is the level he should be playing at. Can't believe the approach from Swansea has been turned down. Would take even £1 million.

Seems weird that Liverpool started pre-season training at the weekend with the Euros only halfway through the QFs.
Weirder still was that Mario Balotelli was there - plus Lazar Markovic and Luis Alberto

Playing Wigan at Wigan on 17th July. Managed to get tickets but it wasn't easy as only half the ground was on sale at the time. Not sure if they have opened it up as a result of the extra demand.
Can't wait to see Balotelli's response to Klopp's pressing game.

Re: Liverpool General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Pre-season starts with a glorious 1-0 win at Tranmere. 79th minute winner from Ings (Alexander, Arnold)
1st half: Karius, Flanagan, Matip, Lovren, Smith, Lucas, Ejaria, Brannagan, Kent, Mane, Firmino.
2nd half: Bogdan, Moreno, Ilori, Ings, Stewart, Wisdom, Markovic, Randall, Woodburn, Alexander-Arnold, Chirivella.
A few debuts (Karius, Matip, Mane), a few returnees, a few kids, zero Balotellis.
Apparently there are 14 internationals yet to return.
In other news, Klopp has extended his deal and Sakho has got off his drugs bust

Liverpool have reversed the fixtures with Burnley to give them more time to finish Anfield so are starting the season with 4 out of 5 games away - Arsenal, Burnley, Spurs and Chelsea. They might be complaining about slow builders after that little lot.

We did something similar in the days of yore (think it was to do with new sewers) cancelling some early home games. That was the summer, from memory, we signed Barnes and Beardsley and it all went rather well. I'll call it a good omenDarbyand wrote:Liverpool have reversed the fixtures with Burnley to give them more time to finish Anfield so are starting the season with 4 out of 5 games away - Arsenal, Burnley, Spurs and Chelsea.
