Not at all sure about that. Hennessy may get a spot and not sure about Marriapa. Any palace fans with insight?

I've played it safe and gone with Ward but would like to know whether Mariappa is definitely starting.

Any more insight from you Palace fans on this, which keeper are you likely to start the season with? and is the centre back pairing of Dann and Delaney safe at the start with Hangeland's arrival?Neath boy wrote:Not at all sure about that. Re: Crystal Palace General Chat & Starting XI Thread
I'd have to say i'm not to sure on the keeper choice, Speroni & Hennessey seem to be swapping at half time in the friendlies so maybe Pulis is not to sure either.
As for the back four i think Mariappa will only play if Palace do not sign a left back which Pulis will definitely do before the window shuts so maybe mariappa will start the 1st couple of games. Dann & Delaney will start the season as the CB pairing and should do for the foreseeable future. Ward & Dann are the safe picks imo.

Kelly in direct competition with Ward now if/when he signs and as Jerome Williams (classified as a midfielder in FPL) has played 6 out 7 games in pre-season at left back maybe signals Pulis' intentions here. Hangeland played last friendly with Dann at CB and both Mariappa and Delaney are carrying slight knocks. Seems the only one you can hang your hat at the minute now is Dann, however I'd be inclined to take a punt on Hangeland if he can get a run of games. Definitely a Pulis kind of player and if he's somehow mustered another long throw specialist Hangeland could get on the end of a fair few chances. I'll be monitoring this one closely myself

Getting confused who plays which side at the back. Kelly is a RIGHT back (/CB) and I thought he was in contention with Mariappa. Am I right or wrong?

This is what I thought. Kelly does not play LB. He can cover RB and CB.murf wrote:Getting confused who plays which side at the back. Kelly is a RIGHT back (/CB) and I thought he was in contention with Mariappa. Am I right or wrong?
Joel Ward can play LB or RB.
Would be interesting to get views of a CP fan.

It would make which palace defender easier, should he go.
None of them.

Some burnt fingers on "Next Manager" market on Betfair.
Sherwood traded at 1/4 ... Not interested.
Mackay traded at 1/100 ... Not guilty mlud.
Current fav. Neil Lennon.

Do Palace fans think Papa Soure and Bamford will likely be regular starters?

Do Palace fans think that Jedinak will keep penalties, or is one of your new boys in line for the job?

I think there will be quite a bit of rotation this season. The squad is very strong and Pardew will want to keep people involved.scopsm wrote:Do Palace fans think Papa Soure and Bamford will likely be regular starters?
If he's on the pitch then quite probably, but we have several players who can take them.Striker wrote:Do Palace fans think that Jedinak will keep penalties, or is one of your new boys in line for the job?
