Re: Arsenal General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Indeed, why would people risk losing expensive season tickets (assuming that they were regular followers)?
Interesting to see how well those who were rested for the reserve fixture in the week performed in today's Premiership games. Looking forward to the proper NL derbies later in the season.

Wenger is taking Arsenal backwards now after his great success and this is purely down to him being stubborn. If we said we need an attacking mid, he would buy a defender. He does it his way and his way only. Someone like Ancelotti would come into Arsenal and purchase a CB, defensive mid and decent striker and win the league with Wenger's team. Something he could do, if he was willing to listen to the fans.

If he listened to some arsenal fans we would be bankrupt
If this is the attitude he get for his service to the club, I wouldn't blame him if he walked out

Off topic, but Arsenal would not go bankrupt buying a decent defender, mid and striker.em9999 wrote:If he listened to some arsenal fans we would be bankrupt

Any other club and Wenger would have been shown the door.
Best to carry this conversation on in the Arsenal thread in SCK.

Ivan Gazidis, October 15th 2015, Arsenal AGM.
"The last few years, we have transformed and rejuvenated the squad. We have young talented players and a deep squad,"
Inspector Clueless, Tuesday night, somewhere in Sheffield.
'The occasion was too much for the young players. They were not ready to play at this level, none of them"
Someone is fibbing here.

Re: Arsenal General Chat & Starting XI Thread
I expect 95% of Fisoers (roughly) wont give a monkeys chuff about the latest email Arsenal FC has sent to season ticket holders.
An extract.
“As a result of our continued progress in cup competitions this season, our FA Cup Fifth Round home match against Hull City on the weekend of 19/20/21/22 February is the sixth cup credit for the 2015/16 season and will be a category C match.
“Consequently, our UEFA Champions League Round of 16 fixture against FC Barcelona, to be played on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 will be our seventh cup tie credit of the season and has been designated as a category A fixture.
“Due to the number of matches played this season and the categories assigned to them, there will be an additional cost to your season ticket for the 2016/17 of [between £18-30 depending on the price of your seat]. This additional cost will be added to your renewal price for next season.”
This is exactly why more and more of our fans are viewing the board of the club as money grabbing c***s.
Complete disgrace, and I hope the supporters as a whole not just the ST holders take action.
While on the subject of extortionate prices, I whole heartedly support the Liverpool fans protest against the £77 top price tickets for the Sunderland game, the idea is to walk out on the 77th minute.

Why even bother going would be better than walking out in the 77th min.
Most Arsenal fans walk out around that time as it is.
Dunno why Liverpool fans even bother until Klopp buys some players. It's basically Rodgers squad and they are shit.
I prefer the FA Cup when he plays the youngsters

Have to disagree with the following quote from Sleuth,
Dunno why Liverpool fans even bother until Klopp buys some players. It's basically Rodgers squad and they are shit.
The players bought by Rodgers aren't that good, bar Coutinho. It's going to take two years at least to see an improvement.

Anyone else noticed the crowd or rather not notice the crowd last night
Arsenal claim there were 59,905 fans inside the crown, that's practically a full house.
I doubt there were 50,000 there it was every other seat or seats empty from the hughlights I saw and even the commentator on the game on MOTD last night remarked " My god there are a lot of empty seats here tonight I wonder if this is a backlash of the Man Utd game."
It's a long way home when your team plays shite. It's an even longer way home when it's in Barcelona

We know by now that the clubs official attendance is seats sold, not bums on seats.sleuth wrote:Anyone else noticed the crowd or rather not notice the crowd last night

I would not go as low as 50k, more like 55k.
Watch out for the West Brom game, currently loads of tickets available on the exchange, many more than there ever were for the Swansea game.
A mauling from Spurs on Saturday wont help matters.

So long as he is fit and available Monreal is first choice left back, Gibbs is usually on the bench and only comes on around the 70th minute to protect a lead.
At Everton we actually ended with 6 defenders on the field.

I noticed Wenger played Gibbs for the cup games last week, although he was probably saving Monreal for the Barca game.
What do you think the chances are off Monreal getting a rest for the West Brom game, given it would be 3 games in one week?

It's no secret that Gabriel is ahead of Mertesacker in the pecking order now, but again depends on fitness, I dont think at this stage Wenger will rotate just for the hell of it.
Personally I wouldn't trust Gabriel to put my bins out without making a calamity of it. Looks uncomfortable in possesion, flaps the moment he is under any pressure.

Re: Arsenal General Chat & Starting XI Thread
Unprecedented (at the Emirates) levels of available tickets for WBA on Thursday, general sale (no membership required) up to 6 each.
Its Dot's dream come true.
Yellow blocks are where seats can be bought, my guess is at least 40 per block.
Our fans, particularly the ST holders are showing their resentment.
I'm in block 127, had the seat from the original fixture a few weeks back. Given the option now I would have joined them and stayed at home, but still this is my final visit this season.

Never mind the back tracking, the message from Cech is clear.
Imagine if any player at United during Fergies reign had suggested he could do well in another job.
He would have kicked his ass into the street.

I think Ozil has a better chance of lining up on Friday than Alexis, particularly if the mercurial Chilean turns up with a sick note.

I think so, he looks the most accomplished. When Koscielny serves his ban Mertesacker will make way.
