Coquelin has gone on loan to German side Freiburg , pleased we have not sold him, do rate him, but Wenger seems unsure, with Freiberg finishing 5th last season its poss he may get some European game experience, so hope it works out for him.
With Djourou gone on loan to Hamberg, the squad size rapidly getting smaller and still few other players likely to be loaned or sold, should be a interesting time between now and season start.

As Achilles pointed out Higuain will be an awesome signing Mike, think you got someone with goals in him there.

Its all about opinions, but to me for England we have 2 players similar age in key positions who understand each others game in Wilshire and Cleverly, no question both have yet to take the big step to next level, but do honestly believe, stay fit and they can.
My worry is will powers that be build team around them.
Do understand why as individuals people question them, but as a pair they compliment wonderfully.

Yaya Sanogo looks a bit good, 4 goals so far in U20 world cup, know its hard to judge players based on these type of comps, but he is very quick and for sure knows were goal is, big seems well built as well so should be ok physically in prem .
He has been given a first team squad number, interesting to see how he is used, would expect him to figure in most of league cup games at least, with Gnabry and Eisfeld joining him will be worth watching, plus the 2 Spaniards Miquel and Bellerin (just been given new contract) thats potentially a very good group coming through especially if you add Damian Martinez in goal, who has all ready been in Argentina's full squad (though not yet played)

The Higuain transfer saga is starting to get painful.

Am delighted that it appears we may have finally come through the years of clearing emirates debt, but the length of time this is taking makes me fear it will ultimately collapse (reminds me of mata, was he not 95% signed, then popped up on a Chelsea shirt).

During thurs/fri it appeared to be hours away, now seems to has gone backwards.

Told myself not to get wound up this summer, but as a club we don't seem to make it very easy on ourselves!

Arsenal never comment on anything until a deal is done

It's not the club that have said a deal is done nor that it's close nor that a fee has been agreed etc etc

We'll get him - and others

this is a interesting one

"Premier League giants Arsenal will take Colombia Under-20 midfielder Sebastian Perez on trial in August, according to Atlético Nacional president Juan Carlos de la Cuesta."

Did a google on him and found this

" Sebastián Pérez Cardona is a midfielder who plays for Atletico Nacional. Serious and disciplined, he is the classic volante of the team of Medellin and the Colombian national team under 20. In the Under 20 World Cup of 2011 which was organized in Colombia, Sebastian Perez was the youngest of his expedition. He quickly developed personality and tactical intelligence, he has a good vision and a good technique, is also good at intercepting."

that last bit interests me  maybe Wenger is listening :D

Interesting that Gedion Zelalem has been taken on close season tour, jumped straight from u16 to u21 level, seen him couple of times, no question a talent, my only worry is maybe he is being pushed through to quickly. Central mid player (my view) with all the skills needed to make it through, its physical side worry for me. Will watch with interest tour games to see how he goes against full age players, even if level not likely to be highest.

Jack was slight, albeit wiry, and has strengthened up enormously - his time at Bolton helped a great deal

Dan Crowley played his first game for us, in reserve friendly against Sutton in a 2-0 win. To say he made an impression judging by comments, from those who saw him an understatement. Set up one goal and second came from freekick he won. Sadly not been able to find any clips of game.
At 15 to be playing with those who are fair few years older and still make his mark, no matter what level opposition is bodes well for future.
This from Afc site

"The performance of Dan Crowley, making his debut after signing from Aston Villa, was a particular highlight. The 15-year-old was composed in possession, clever on the ball and always seemed to find a yard of space."

How much Arsenal pay Villa for Dan then?

Its one of those set fee type things, know Villa very unhappy about it (rightly so) think it was £200,000.
Buying club pays selling club a fee based on development as against ability, pleased we have him but it is in my view very wrong.
Only seen clips of him plus 1 game against us, that in addition to comments regarding him, again my view a fee of around £4mil would have been about market rate

Worth seeing some of the goals in game (its 5-0 at mo) Giroud on now took his 2 very well. know opposition not greatest but its very encouraging, with Zelalem looking very capable of a squad place now as is Gnabry our League cup side will be worth watching.

It does leave a bad taste in the mouth but all the big clubs do it, in particular exploiting the age Spanish young players can sign a contract.

I believe that a club should recruit youngsters from its geographic location.

Watching the young players in second half, granted against not that strong opponents, was very exciting as an Afc fan. The movement and invention shown, in equal measure frustrating and hopeful for future. Wenger and board have to bring in, the in my view few players we need to transform us and give what i think is potentially a golden squad a chance to fulfill what at mo is just potential. It will probably mean a spend of around £70/80 mil but my view will be cheap for what we can gain from it, just hope that after all these years of looking at big picture, they dont change and just look at short term spend.
If they do what we need, bring in a top class forward and mid player, perhaps another defender, we can afford to spend what market demands, it will not be wasted, penny pinch and those trophy-less years wasted

Forbes has us as 4th most valuable football club and 10th most valuable sports franchise, United have lost top spot to Real. But the top 3 franchises are all Football, with Barca taking 3rd.
Spurs are catching Pool in terms of placing now in 11th with pool dropping to 10th. Prem have most of any in top part of list.
But the 2 Spanish clubs have it seems the most world wide following if social media sites is a guide they get most hits.

How good were Giroud's goals - ok, opposition not the best but I'd have no problem with not getting a new striker - for me it's on the nice list

Go and get Fellaini by all means

Tour from a commercial point of view doing well, great story about the kid who chased the bus and was then invited on board, a small gesture but in commercial terms will in my view be worth millions to club, who ever made call to stop the bus deserves a bonus.
Hope we see Jack in todays game and again some of the kids given another run out, watched that second half again from other day, even allowing for lack of opposition it was very impressive, the invention and movement, fair few seasons against anybody that we have shown that for an extended period.

We do have a facility there so who knows :D While am not greatest fan of these trips, sadly its real world. That footage will be shown world wide, image of club will be enhanced and these days its as much about balance sheet as league table sad but true.
Its another reason for top players to consider signing for for us, as image rights now major factor in contract talks and bigger world exposure/fan base club has more profitable image rights become.
So yes it was amusing but it has serious side.

Oi Mike you eff old Codger, how the devil r u.?

Ain't posted for weeks and rarely do nowdays but as you talk abit of sense ( ) in the main, what's your view on the impending season when Arsenal still claim they have a full capacity ( ) and when the FACT will be this season, at the library, there will be 8,000 empty seats plus per game now that corporate hospitality has been killed in the city. ( did you see the empty seats at the WIMBLEDON FINALS AND YES THAT INCLUDES MURRAYS FINAL and the commentary team try to gloss over the fact.

I doubt Arsenal have a stellar signing this season- (certainly not Suarez) AND YOU ATTENDANCES WILL BE LAUGHABLE WHEN YOU CLAIM IT'S ANOTHER FULL HOUSE.
