The €50,000 Weekly Monster EPL game runs every week
FanTeam's Weekly Monster offers a guaranteed €50,000 prize fund for the €20 buy-in (although there is also a €2 buy-in game with lower prizes or a €200 buy-in for the high-rollers). The tournament runs each week for the EPL games from 3pm Saturday so you know by Monday night if you've won a share of the prizes (normally for a top 50 finish).
Main rules:
This tournament runs over one gameweek only.
Normal prize distribution: Distribution is decided by a ratio of 15
Standard score calculation.
A fantasy team can not include more than 3 players from same team.
Multiple fantasy teams per user are allowed in this tournament
You must choose a captain for your fantasy team, and that player will receive x2 points.
You must choose a vice captain for your fantasy team, and that player will receive x2 points if your captain does not play.
There are no bench-players to be selected in this tournament
The budget is $100.0M
If two teams are tied, the team with the most funds remaining wins.
Stacking penalty is given when more then 1 GK or DEF from the same team earns the Clean Sheet. Every next player will get -1 x 1 points more (-1, -2, -3...)
Safety-net is enabled. All non-starting players will be replaced at the beginning of their match, with a player from the same team, same position, and equal or cheaper price. Closest price chosen first.

Re: The €50,000 Weekly Monster EPL game runs every week
News:
'Last week, the user ‘gaffel’ topped the €50,000 Monster and earned €4,651. He had a very nice team, where only Aston Villa’s Heaton failed to earn many points. Pereira (12), Doherty (13) and Evans (10) played a big part in the success of the fantasy veteran. If you want to copy gaffel’s triumph, you need to enter at least one team into the €20 buy-in Monster before Saturday 15:00!'

News:
'Until now, we have paid out to the top 15% entries in the Weekly Monster, but from Saturday the new rule is 20%. While the top prizes will be slightly reduced, there will be a lot more prizes, and we think it makes sense to have more prizes, especially in tournaments with several thousand participants. With the new set up, there will be between 400 and 550 prizes in the €50,000 GTD!
The new rule will apply to all tournaments from Saturday (but for tournaments with less than 36 entries there will be special rules, as in the past). '

Well that disappointing; it makes me not want to enter every week as much, surely no one is that happy to win €40, €50 or €60 for a €20 outlay?
Much better would be a decent return for the top 5% or at a stretch 10% of the total comp entrants.
It’s a great concept and with the continued decline of prizes from the Telegraph and The Sun I do hope they re-think this increasing percentage payout for the top competition scorers.

Yeah, strange one. I ain’t in it to come 400th and win 67 pence.
€10k first prize
€5k second prize
Then scale the rest down to 100th
Simple, and gets you a big headline prize.

Re: The €50,000 Weekly Monster EPL game runs every week
Yeah agreed, and another point is this safety net where your non playing players are replaced
This is in my view helps the multi entrant who chucks bundles of teams in with not that much of a thought process and massively hinders the player carefully working out who may or who may not play that weekend with their 1 or 2 attempts.
It’s a recent rule I certainly do not like and hope it gets reversed ASAP along with this Brexit bollocks.

Re: The €50,000 Weekly Monster EPL game runs every week
In full agreeance Gents.
It’s the reason I don’t play the weekly any more as a 1 to 2 team punt.
against the multi-way I’m already at a disadvantage and this safety net thing just makes it so much easier for them.
Couples now with the prize pool paying 20% of the field it’s like CBN said....I ain’t playing to double my money.....I’m playing for the jackpot.
I don’t think they will change though as they are to worried about losing a big multi and the rake he generates.
They will always have casual and novice players with 1-2 teams entering anyway.
PokerStars did this....increased the payout fields, done to keep the money circulating longer in the poker economy so that they enter more comps and pay more rake.
Adapt or die I say.

For the love of god, please get Hudson-Odoi on or all the big multis are going to pick up Pulisics' hat-trick points!

That wouldn’t have happened. Pulisic was more expensive than CHO. Not sure if any mids played that were cheaper than him

I’d be more concerned with KDB still being awarded a goal and Mendy the assist when the Premier League gave it to Silva.
Perhaps FanTeam will update the error sometime next week when they can be arsed.

No, but it’s run by the same cowboys.leethomas wrote:City game wasn't even part of weekly monster this week
48 hours later and KDB still has the goal. That could cost someone 50k.
Whatever thread it’s posted in, it needs highlighting.

News:
'We had a nice increase in the number of entries in the Weekly Monster last time. Only 292 seats were left unfilled. One insider on this topic predicts that this Saturday we will see the Weekly Monster be sold out – for the first time this season! While this is good news for us, it could be bad news for you if you don’t secure your seat(s) ahead of time. If you don’t know which players to pick yet, you can use the autocomplete to register, and change your team at a later time – without any penalties of course. The final deadline is 16:00 CET at Saturday as usual. By the way, this round you get to see line-ups from no less than 6 matches!'
