An early update for a change (and assuming Martin Gould doesn't wrap his match up a session early)

Re: 2010 Fantasy World Snooker Competition
Knockout Cup 1st Round results :-
Shaggy365 (2) (P Whitehead) 76 v Pa102aw (-) (J Morrisson) 43
Murf (8) (J Murfitt) 59 v Bluenoseyparker (9) (I Frost) 84
Spencer4 (6) (J Ravilious) 70 v PolarBear147 (-) (A Wilson) 68
Colin H (-) (C Heggie) 60 v Rossn13 (-) (R Nendick) 51
Blahblah (5) (G Jones) 51 v Jules (-) (J Dale) 77
Surprised (11) P Thomas 41 v Knulpuk (7) (J Clements) 85
Darbyand (4) (A Darbyshire) 65 v Grant (16) (G Humphrey) 57
Workie-ticket (-) (M Rice) 67 v ShadyOne (-) (M Long) 71
In the top half, fairly convincing wins for Shaggy and yours truly, whilst Spencer nicks his game on a respotted black against the unlucky Polar Bear. He will play Colin H in the next round, also a narrow winner.
In the bottom half, the unseeded Jules will take on Knul"pot" in the next round, both scoring well. Whilst Darbyand will take on Shadyone, who just shaded workie ticket. Ahem

Quarter Finals :-
Shaggy365 (2) v Bluenoseyparker (9)
Spencer4 (6) v Colin H (-)
Jules (-) v Kunlpuk (7)
Darbyand (4) v Shadyone (-)
For the sake of the Cup it's the points scored in the second round that count. Obviously the less players you have left, the less likely you are to score well (sorry, sounds a bit John Virgo-ish)

Re: 2010 Fantasy World Snooker Competition
I was impressed with Gould last night, first ime I have seen him play. Herr Flick - good shout
I do have a question though. He wears glasses but when he lines up a shot he actually looks over the rims of the glasses . So, if you are not looking through the lenses, what is the point of wearing them ? Or I am just being a bit dim ?
Higgins now back to 8-9 against Davis. Shaggy could get his 13-12 after all

Horrible kick for Higgins
Am I the only one watching the Maguire / Dott game while Davis / Higgins is on break ?
Just seen something that has *never* happened before at top level snooker

Maguire potted a green
The female ref said something to the crowd about keeping the noise down or something and she momentarily lost her concentration. Instead of getting the green from the pocket, she picked up the white off the table. Maguire and ref had a right old laugh
Wimmen eh

What a brown by Davis.
Can't really believe it. He could have won 13-12 for me.

Unbelievable result for him, how far can he go? Martin Gould is the ideal next opponent for him, a player coming from the match of his life who almost certainly won't have another performance like it in him. Then it would be the single-table stage for the first time since the mid-90s - clash of the generations against Ding perhaps?

Davis v Gould then ? It's great for the sport. Veteran having an Indian summer against the part time croupier.forestfan wrote:Unbelievable result for him, how far can he go? That's good going as both relative outsiders. I'm still hoping for a colossal comeback from Robertson....murf wrote:Both in my team Shame I'll have to lose one but at least I'll have a semi-finalist (or hopefully 3!)bluenoseyparker wrote:Davis v Gould then ?

Should I put a stipulation on the web-site saying that if you're stupid, then you're not allowed to enter?

Re: 2010 Fantasy World Snooker Competition
Looks like Williams & Ronnie will go to the wire. I'm not sure about Ronnie this year - he looks a bit "I can't be arsed". Plus Williams is cueing well. About time he had a shave though
Think I'm going to lose Perry. I just need Selby to go up a gear against Hendry.

Re: 2010 Fantasy World Snooker Competition
good to see selby in command v hendry - but that's mainly cos i don't like hendry!
similar for ding leading against murphy.
williams missed a trick v o'sullivan last night - should have been at least 9-7 up... and o'sullivan may actually wake up today and care about whether he wins or not...
stunning performance by davis - will he have anything left for a match v resurgant robertson?

Robertson will be confident after his comeback and the thrashing he gave Davis last year, but he underestimates the Nugget at his peril!

I have Roberston -v- Davis in the Qtr final so slightly indifferent to the winner I just need it to be a close game.
Cannot see beyond Robertson personally.

Don't think he will come back like he did against Zhang. In fact, Hendry may well be on the verge of retiring.blahblah wrote:Hendry has imploded.
I actually think the Aussie can go on and win the title now. He'll have that much confidence after his comback against Gould and Davis will be mentally knackered after two very tough games.Knulpuk wrote:I have Roberston -v- Davis in the Qtr final so slightly indifferent to the winner I just need it to be a close game.

Selby & Ronnie both in the quarters. That's four through for me
Even Perry nearly produced another colossal comeback for me but alas, lightning doesn't strike twice.
