Hendry, Carter & Ebdon have propelled me up the leaderboard, and I would think into the semi-finals of the FISO cup as well.

Now that Higgins is out, Hendry really does have a great shout for an 8th title

Yep, 4 v 3 always going to win thru :(

Needed Bingham to absolutely blitz Perry to get anywhere near you, and for my other two to win 13-12 (with lots of high scoring frame losses).

Not going to happen

Great picks Bagpuss, Carter looked well rough against Hawkins, but excelled in the 2nd round  . Hendry and Ebdon class so far, and Perry might even turn it round. Good luck in the next round.

Unfortunately no extra points for all those brave enough to pick O'Sullivan. Just 147 points for his final frame.

Just to let those of you concerned that I shall be sending the sheep the league table with just the second round games on at close of play tonight, so he can update his FISO knockout competition.

I think the time has come to admit that I may not actually win this competition. I've been putting off making this admission, but I must finally accept that I've been very unlucky with my choices. If they'd performed the way I expected them to, I'd have almost wrapped this competition up by now.

I conceed.

I'd only be using your points so we'll take those results as read, cheers.

SEMI FINALS

Grant v GM
Spencer4 v Bagpuss
- catfight!

To be played over the World Championship QFs

Who has who left:

Grant: Wenbo and O'Sullivan (play each other so exactly 1 player in semis)
GM: Perry and Ebdon
Spencer4: Perry
Bagpuss: Carter, Perry, Ebdon and Hendry (Carter plays Ebdon so at least 1 player in semis)

So I think we can say Bagpuss wins the battle of the cats in semi final 2. If GM gets through then Bagpuss can't be beaten in the final - possibility of there being a definite tie (if Bagpuss' other 2 players go out) in which case I'll introduce a tie-breaker.

Think Bagpuss has a good chance of the overall title - can't see anybody with 5 players left and he is about 4th highest of those with 4. None of the top ten have 4 and one has none left at all!

11 out of 19 FISOers (58%) in the table are in the top half overall. Fantasy masters or just benefitting from being against a bunch of schoolkids?

I notice it is all over for TSO with just 2 rounds gone! Luckily for him, some others are in the same boat and he is guaranteed a 257th place finish (of 263). He wins enough so lets laugh at him while we can

I'm in 59th with 2 players left. If one can keep going I should hold onto my top 100 spot - that is now my (rather poor) target :?

5 Junhui 584
13 Liu Chiang 100
14 Fu 476
15 Allen 423
25 O'Sullivan 868
31 Davis 390
I've still got the Rocket so quietly hopeful of sneaking into the top 100 by the end of the tourney.

Cheers Spencer4. Its looking good for me so far - Hendry in control, Carter & Ebdon may well be in for the long haul and Perry has got off to a stunning start against Maguire

Come on Ronnie ;)

Was a toss up for me at the start between Murphy and Maguire for my other top-ranked player to face him in the final.

Can't believe the last 2 frames in the snooker - 15 reds 14 blacks by Ebdon, followed by a 147 by Carter - awesome stuff.

Stop Press : Just updated the scores on my spreadsheet (but not on my web-site). At the moment Joe Perry is 10-9 up. Bagpuss is 2nd in the competition by a mere 568 points. The guy that's top (Simon Rowlinson) has Carter & Hendry left. Bagpuss has Carter, Hendry & Perry. Basically, if Perry can win, then Bagpuss will move to the top of the leaderboard, although there's still a few others that can over-take him.

If Perry wins I reckon I'll have it in the bag

SEMI FINALS

Grant 2,120 v GM 2,703
Spencer4 1,502 v Bagpuss 5,212

Bagpuss was actually the top points scorer of all 263 entrants in the quarter-finals.

He has a fair chance of winning the whole competition, but I reckon he can still finish as low as 3rd. Time for Mr Cheaty McCheat (aka me) to change my entry to the one that's shown in 999th position and hope nobody notices.

I'll wait for murf to announce the entrants for the final

Looks like its between me & Mr Giles for overall victory. I've got Perry + 500 points in the bag against his O'Sullivan.......... and to think how much I used to hate seeing Hendry win during the 90's

As you suggest - looks like I could be third if O'Sullivan gets to the final
