So, Ted Hankey has proved he is as much of a turd as his South Park namesake.

Fairly or otherwise, a lot of them still give you that fat sleazy pub creep vibe to be honest… he’s not the only one with form in that department.

RIP John Gwynne, the last of the famed original trio of Sky commentators alongside Sid Waddell and Dave Lanning. His distinctive voice also featured as a Soccer Saturday match reporter for many years.

As we know from the Sporcle challenge, darts clearly isn’t everyone’s cup of Christmas mulled wine on here… but quite a story emerging at Ally Pally this year.

16-year-old Luke Littler (though in true darts style, he could pass for 30, at least…) demolished a former BDO champion with a 106 average in round 1… a bit less spectacular last night but still took care of 20th seed Andrew Gilding. With big names gone from his section of the draw he’s tipped to go a lot further, and bookies now quote him at shorter odds for the title than defending champion Michael Smith  Maybe down to “supply and demand” odds to an extent, but could someone not old enough to legally drink take the ultimate pub sports title? As one article pointed out, he could plausibly still be winning in 2070!

Remarkable stuff again, Barney is playing as well as he has for years but still struggling to lay a glove on the youngster! On this form only MVG at peak level has a chance of denying him.

105 average and 50% on doubles for Littler  Could have finished on a Big Fish as well but wasn’t tempted despite his opponent being on 270-odd.

Barney averaging almost 100 couldn’t get near him. Doubt Dolan will trouble him despite some hard-fought wins over big names, so just a question of how he handles the longer games in the last four and perhaps beyond.

Been playing darts since 2yo apparently but may've had a little Littler setup in the womb.

First one’s a coin-flip, think Littler and MVG will win easily, and Humphries should get through though Chizzy is dangerous if he can hit his doubles.

An all-Luke final follows last year’s all-Michael contest. That one was certainly half decent!

If Humphries plays like last night it will be a big challenge for the youngster. May the force be with the best Luke, the winner will be sky-walking…

I don’t know, used to be on New Year’s Day or nearest Sunday I think, but I guess if they’d strung it out until this weekend then some wouldn’t have played a match before Christmas…
