I don't mind him. Or the fact you get some mental piece of music like that. That's why I love listening to 6.

Genuinely Herc, I'm amazed you like that. As you say, you can't please everyone :)

I'm just glad it was the 42minute version and not the 70 minute version!!!!

He appears to have "done" a few. I gave up after 1m10secs. How I wish Jean Michel Jarre had never been born :?

I think In C was concocted in 1967.

You need to rue acid being created rather than the French dude.

For those 30-40 year old ravers out there; on Sunday there is a homage dance music on 6.

Frankie Knuckles is a guest on Namone's show (07:00-10:00). Which admitttedly seems early for a little jaunt down dance memory lane)!

I've been looking forward to this but I doubt I'll remember to catch it. I guess they'll stick it on iPlayer though.

Sony Radio Academy Awards, nominations 2012.
The prestigious UK Station of the Year is a fascinating contest between BBC 6 Music, a wonderful acknowledgment that the right decision was made, Bauer’s Kerrang! Radio, proving that rock is very much alive and well, and previous winner BBC Radio 2.
Kerrang! for me, best thing thats came out of Birmingham since Cadbury's chocolate, Toyah Wilcox, and The Streets.

To be honest, you didn't miss much. It wasn't awash with old tunes or anything.
It was mildly interesting.

On the Saturday night (around 22:30) frankie knuckles was on too and they were playing lads of old tunes.

BBC 6 Music has won the Sony award for best station.
Keys and Gray Talksport morning show won best Sports programme, that I won't argue with.
Andy Gray is still (for me) the most knowledgeable and insightful football pundit, that carries Keys along who is still essentially, a numpty.

Did anyone hear Steve Jones' (ex Sex Pistols) recent shows? Bizarre to say the least. He played some truly appalling music and muttered incoherently in between.

caught about 20 minutes of it yesterday evening.
Wasn't too bad the bits I heard (song wise). Played one by some real trannies (his words) which was quite good. Just before that though, he rambled on about loving his dog.

Did he do more than one slot?
The other guest punk DJs have tended to get a slot at midday day on Sunday.

Don't mind him so much to be honest, and do enjoy most if his tracks.

I have really been enjoying Giles Peterson (not sure if spelt correctly) on a Saturday afternoon. He plays some excellent stuff.

He did mention them, but he said "these are actual real transvestites, not just wearing make up and stuff like the New York Dolls" (or words to that effect).

Yes, a dig. Maclaren said they were an influence, but certainly Lydon has denied it.

Purely be accident i discovered this, but Steve lamacq's show has just finished, and low and behold, 'Steve Jones: Punk Britania' was to follow. Cue the sound of a drunk mad man talking more than he really need to after the 1st track. Car crash radio this....

In fairness to him, i have probably never given his show that much of my time. I don't really expect a lot of what he plays to be my bag. Plus, his voice will now forever have me thinking of Takeshi's Castle, "Ooooh in the drink he goes.....unlucky lad!!"

That said, I'd always had a low estimatiion of what Huey Morgan's show would be like, but I've been quite often pleasantly surprised when I hear a fair chunk of it.

Glad it's not just me  He played 'Alone Again' by Har Mar Superstar ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjlBpA5Ee-s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and claimed it brought tears to his eyes. I couldn't tell if it was all some big joke or not, but he didn't quite seem to have the brain power to carry it off if it was.

Craig Charles' show is pretty good, and Huey plays some fantastic stuff, though both overdo the cool DJ schtick a bit for my liking.

Yes, Huey is a bit too cool for school, but just about gets away with it for me.

George Lamb used to play that card, but I couldn't accept it.

Late Saturday morning always gets a shite option.
For a short period they had some double act on Josie someone i think with a guy (a but too much like radio 1).
Then Peter Sina.......hich did a guest slot. Nauseating.

Jon Holmes (?) is now in that slot and he's really hard work.
It's a toss up between him and Cerys on a Sunday morning as to worst show.

George Lamb was just utterly awful, the absolute low point for 6 - things have picked up since the station controller got fired over the whole Brand/Ross Sachsgate thing.

Josie Long and Andrew Collins? They were quite funny. Didn't Adam and Joe used to have that slot? Although I generally prefer DJs to cut the chatter and play the music, I always used to enjoy listening to them.

I like Cerys, she plays some really interesting stuff and is pleasantly amateurish, makes a nice antidote from the Huey school of DJing.

Cerys lets herself down (for me) by going too far with the left field stuff.

Playing some 1930's kazoo specialist or something ridiculously abstract.
That's what I love about 6 though, the fact there is a platform for that.

She seems to have to toned it down of late, so I'm either wavering, or she's been reeled in.
