Especially sad as the cause was a car crash.
The man leaves behind one of the most beautiful and though provoking singles from the 80s:-

I've got the original 12" Uglyman records release. Can't remember where I first heard it but loved it at the time and bought it, despite it not really being what I was into at the time. Guess must have heard it on Peel. For some reason it always sticks in my mind that it was released on Uglyman records.

"Wonderful Life" and "Every Day is Like Sunday". Two songs I love and ones which immediately transport me to the Faversham pub in Leeds in 1987-88.
That was a very special time for me because it was around the time that I started courting. And we are still together after 28 years.
So sad that Black has passed

Might be worth a few quid as it flopped on Uglyman so will be rare. Released later on A&M when it was a hit.unc.si. wrote:I've got the original 12" Uglyman records release. Re: No need to run and hide, it's a wonderful, wonderful life
That is sad news indeed, 'Wonderful Life' was a great song at a generally lean time for music. A shame that he never managed to follow it up and will always be remembered as a one-hit wonder. I always thought Sweetest Smile was a vey good song, too (if you can get past the 80s sax):
