Mercury Prize 2015
Seems like a very uninspiring selection to me:
Aphex Twin – 'Syro'
Benjamin Clementine – 'At Least For Now'
C Duncan – 'Architect'

Ghostpoet – 'Shedding Skin'
Florence + The Machine – 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful'
Jamie xx – 'In Colour'
Roisin Murphy – 'Hairless Toys'
Slaves – 'Are You Satisfied?'
Soak – 'Before We Forgot How to Dream'
Wolf Alice – 'My Love Is Cool'

Would have got on my list.fancy dan wrote:No Everything Everything?
I've got 3 on the list. Ghostpoet is the best of those. Didn't get into his early Mercury prize winning album but liked some recent stuff played on Radio 6 so got the album and loved it. More melodic and song like than the earlier albums (which I've now got).
Slaves is good too. Jamie Xx is ok.
Like Soak's single and may get the album someday.

Re: Mercury Prize 2015
Got three off the list...
Soak – 'Before We Forgot How to Dream'
Gaz Coombes – 'Matador'
Ghostpoet – 'Shedding Skin'
Have ordered another three following the nominations:
Jamie xx – 'In Colour'
Benjamin Clementine – 'At Least For Now'
C Duncan – 'Architect'
One of the three I already have should provide the winner… but who knows with the Mercury.
Whilst some/most are obscure - doesnt appear to be any of the completely whacky "what" type nominations we normally see in the Mercury's

Re: Mercury Prize 2015
To my mind that list keeps up the current fetishisation for solo artists. I'm a bands man....so ah'm oot.
(seriously, I've got next to no interest in who wins it now)

Twitter fans poll. I'm surprised Arsenal didn't win.
