The way it works is simple. There are two lists of footballers, the first team and the squad. The first team consists of 200 of the best footballers in the world and each has a price linked to their performance which can rise or fall, according to their future performance. So, just like a stock market investment, you can invest in a player at the going price and if they do especially well, their value will increase and you’ll be able to sell them at a profit.

Users have a say who’s in the first team because anyone with a Football Index account can vote for a player from the squad. This consists of almost 500 other professional footballers and each week the two most popular are promoted to the first team while the two lowest valued are relegated to the Squad.
