Phone hates Memory Stick...

I've had one in since I got it, and all was fine: now the Phone won't talk to it, but knows it is there as it tells me that I have inserted\removed it.

I did move some files to the SD Card from the SIM, and that may have done something.

I was going to try and put Card in laptop and see if the files are there, but I don't want to shag the laptop if something bad\corrupt etc is wrong with it....

Unlikely to damage the laptop. SD cards only have a limited read/write cycle and all of them die.

Seems to. I had a SD card die in my phone after 6 months. It will die quicker if you have apps on the card that gets used a lot.

Sounds like only so many read\writes.....

I have stopped using SD card for apps and just use it for photos now. My old tablet only had 16gb storage so I put some apps on an SD card and it died after 6 months. Since then I put in new card and it has lasted 2 years. The phone has 64gb so storage is not an issue.
