Bastian Schweinsteiger has returned to training with Manchester United following a knee injury which has kept the midfielder out of action for 13 games. The German is unlikely to feature against Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday but a return to the United squad against West Ham in the FA Cup on Sunday and the return leg against the Reds on March 17 appear more likely possibilities.

With United fighting on three fronts in the Europa League, FA Cup and just three points adrift of fourth placed Manchester City in the Premier League, Schweinsteiger's imminent return will be welcomed news to manager Louis van Gaal.
