The Egg Cup Premier League 2012/13

Post by happyhoppy »

Rules and Guidance 2012/13

Welcome to the 9th year of unique free to play Egg Cup FF, the winner of each league wins a bespoke egg cup and most importantly inclusion in the Hall of Fame located here eggcup-hall-of-fame-post-thelip-t83872.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

1. Your starting X1 is as follows:-

Vorm 3.3
Walker 4.1
Cahill 4.0
Hangeland 3.4
Gibbs 3.7
Valencia 4.5
Gerrard 4.4
McLean 3.7
Lambert 4.9
Jelavic 5.8
Aguero 6.7
Total 48.5m

2. You must then make at least 1 and no more than 2 changes to this team by midnight on Thursday 16th August 2012 to allow me and the other league chairman enough time to check that all teams are in order for the start of the season on Saturday 18th August. Invalid teams may have to be excluded or a transfer penalty imposed (making an enforced transfer) so please pay special care to getting your team correct, it is after all very easy.

3. Each league chairman will PM the Super League log in details, once received please enter your team in the SL as soon as possible so we can fill each egg box, you do not need to have made your changes at this stage. Your team name must include your FISO name to help identify yourself to others (and to me for the cup competition) other than that be creative! and you must set your team to PUBLIC VIEW and post your transfers ideally using the template below:-

De Gea
Luiz
Clichy  example transfer Huth
Vermaelen  example transfer Shawcross
Hangeland
Young
Bale
Valencia
Toure
Hernandez
Suarez

Transfers Left:- 28
Value of Team:- xx.xm

Reasons for Transfers :-
Blah Blah Blah

4. The egg competition is intended as a free to play open, friendly and fun competition. If everyone posts transfers as they should on a timely basis (same day or at the very least before the next scheduled kick off) then there will be no problems, everything will run smoothly. If you feel it will not be possible to do this then please think about whether this competition is for you as it is very frustrating for others who do comply to see others not. Only those that comply will be allowed to play in the leagues the following year.

5. Following the start of the season manage your team in the normal way.

6. Each league contains 12 players and there will be a 3 up, 3 down promotion and relegation at the end of the season. If anyone withdraws during the season only 2 will be relegated from that Division, if anyone decides not to play in the next season an additional promotion place will arise in the next league down. League 3 will be an open ended egg box.

7. There will be a cup competition which runs automatically alongside the league competition. I will announce the weeks for the cup competition and the draws in a separate thread so keep an eye out!

8. If there is a tie for any position the winner will be decided by the Telegraph rules ie goals scored etc, any individual prizes are for the individual, SL prizes will be shared out as per the Fiso SL.

Have contacted TFF about a problem with our SL that is stopping others from joining:-

"The deadline to join a Public League has now passed.
You can still create or join a private league"

Will post on here when fixed.

edit

This is now resolved. They have had to delete and add it. I will PM the revised details.

I wouldn't advise considering them for the first game though

That's me now visited TFF for the first time and my team is in. Good to know I only have to shift one United player out this year - four was a pain in the arse last time around :)

Don't follow my example from previous seasons. I've actually put some time in this year and provisionally picked my two starting transfers in this team.

Doesn't appear to be any obvious injured/non players this year thanks to thelip for that and a nice chunk of cash to play with.

Happy Eggs

Vorm 3.3
Walker 4.1
Cahill 4.0
Hangeland 3.4
Gibbs 3.7
Valencia 4.5  Cazorla 3.2
Gerrard 4.4
McLean 3.7
Lambert 4.9  Tevez 6.4
Jelavic 5.8
Aguero 6.7

Transfers Left:- 30
Value of Team:- £48.7

Reasons for Transfers :-
There's a few players I would quite like to bin but none are terrible picks so I may try and give this team a chance early on.

Tough start for Saints and need the big guns asap, thankfully thelip has left us all plenty of cash to make that easier so obvious choice to come in is Rooney although I was very tempted by Tevez (edit will go with my 2nd choice now RVP is on his way to take all Shrek's points). To enable this Gibbs (place not secured and ARS c/s?) edit now dumped Valencia as too many MU players trying to fit into too few places for Cazorla (nearly Michu/Lallana/Nolan) and a change to a 343 formation. Caz can't be ignored at that price (can he?) although he is a rotation risk so we shall see how he fares, plenty of other options around his price as mentioned.

Not happy with this defence at all but Cahill does have a 341 so we'll see how much he plays. Walker is not great VFM is he and I can't see Vorm picking up as many points in their 2nd season and a new manager. Don't like the midfield much either too many ? for me with regard to fitness (Gerrard) and rotation (Valencia) but I guess we can see how they go.

No copying now. :P (The ledge won't obviously!).

Transfer History:-
P Valencia - Cazorla
P Lambert - Tevez

No copying?

You cheeky git - that pair of transfers has been widely done/posted in the lower leagues.

Me, I don't need lesser players to copy from (or those in lower leagues  )

Neath Eggsperts

Vorm 3.3
Walker 4.1
Cahill 4.0
Hangeland 3.4
Gibbs 3.7
Valencia 4.5  Cazorla 3.2
Gerrard 4.4
McLean 3.7
Lambert 4.9  RVP 7.0
Jelavic 5.8 :
Aguero 6.7

Total 49.3m
Transfers left:30

Reasons(s) for transfer: To copy HH  No seriously Valencia not guaranteed starter and may play full back at start. Lambert has such a tough start. Cazorla a must have. Rooney to get United coverage. May switch to RVP if he moves of course![Which I have now done! I am still not sure he will play first game but heyho I want him in so may as well do it now]
Like HH I am not at all happy about my defence but will see first few games then review.

Transfer history:
Valencia to Cazorla free
Lambert to RVP free

Lucky7s Egg Cup

Vorm 3.3

Walker 4.1  Zabaleta 3.4
Cahill 4.0
Hangeland 3.4
Gibbs 3.7

Valencia 4.5
Gerrard 4.4
McLean 3.7

Lambert 4.9  Torres 6.5
Jelavic 5.8 :
Aguero 6.7

Total 49.4
Transfers left: 30

Reasons(s) for transfer:
Walker is overpriced and I think Zabaleta will do ok for his price. Not sure Soton will score plenty, so I'm going to risk Torres to have a better season.

I haven't made mine yet. I know one definite swap I want to do and think I know my second transfer in. Just tricky to know which of the equally average picks to dump.....

I will probably be changing Rooney now but can't decide yet who. He may still be a good pick but too much doubt as to where he will play, so initially until things settle down I think there are better options.

Well that was a spot of luck. Just visited this thread for the first time in ages and didn't realise tonight's the deadline. Could have really got HH somewhat annoyed

Here's how my team is set up to start the season:-

Pantsville Leggcup

M Vorm 3.3
K Walker 4.1
G Cahill 4.0
B Hangeland 3.4
K Gibbs 3.7
A Valencia 4.5  Y Toure 4.3
S Gerrard 4.4
J McLean 3.7
R Lambert 4.9  J Mata 5.8
N Jelavic 5.8
S Aguero 6.7

Total Value: £49.2M
Transfers Remaining: 30

Reason for transfer(s):-

o Yaya was used to cleanse the team  Don't fancy Lambert's chances of getting many points early on and apparantly Chelsea have a glut of fixtures early on so have opted for Mata as a proven points scorer for Chelsea. May take up the three for one option after we get a feel for the first fixtures.

I haven't checked if I've missed any injuries or anything so if I've done something silly could someone let me know?

Good luck to everyone, especially HH who I really hope wins this season :D

murf's eggcup mob

M Vorm 3.3
G Cahill 4.0
B Hangeland 3.4
K Gibbs 3.7
K Walker 4.1  Cazorla 3.2
A Valencia 4.5
S Gerrard 4.4
J McLean 3.7
R Lambert 4.9  Torres 6.5
N Jelavic 5.8
S Aguero 6.7

Total Value: £49.2M (I think)
Transfers Remaining: 30

Reason for transfer(s):-

As the masses have noted having Lambert and a load of cash just doesn't seem right. In comes Torres. My little gamble on the traitorous banjo / barn door combo failure but the 3 for 1 and uncertainty about Rooney/RVP sealed it.... at least for starters.

Needed to raise some cash and being a sheep I am following the masses again to get in CKazorla. Lots of options on who to sell but I have stuck with Cahill for now due to that 3 for 1 balancing his unsure starting place and dodgy Gibbs and dodgy Value-ncia. Walker seems overpriced with the untrustworthy AVB defensive logic.

That'll do for now. More tinkering won't be far away and I have some budget to help.....

[note - I haven't actually made these transfers yet but hopefully will have time tonight]
