Week 38

The Saint still leads by 7 and has a handful of transfers in hand probably so unless he puts in Tadic, JWP and Long he's got it in the bag, battle for the last podium spot hots up with a Murf Mystery tied. The relegation battle is one of the tightest ever for the last place and only 10 points separating 4 places from 7th to 10th, best of luck!

Nice to see last week's gamble/logic paying off
murf wrote:In binning Sturridge I had to make a Giroud v Sanchez call. Probably would have gone Giroud but as I am chasing Mystery I went for the Sanchez differential. 3 left.
Almost blew 2 more on Fab and Giroud but was 0.1 short. Probably a good thing.....
Held fire last night as my existing players all play before Arsenal play again so can have a 5 for 2 instead of last night's 6 for 3.

Also saved me having to figure out who I wanted!!

Mystery has done his last 2 (Sanchez and Ramsey) so do I copy or gamble?

Giroud and Ramsey was the copy move. I went Giroud but gambled on Ozil rather than Ramsey.

EDIT On reviewing my teams I saw I had a transfer left. Apparently I had 3 left in this team. In comes Ramsey as well   Is it obvious I'm not really paying attention???

Week 39

The Saint maintains his position at the top by 16 points, a tight battle ensues for the final podium spot. Zipnolan moves into the relegation zone (maybe for the first time?) as a result of being Agueroless which gives hope to fellow strugglers who had him. Of course the big news is Spencer4's resurgence as he steams past Jester, probably too late to win the league but he can't be ruled out ....

Apologies : I went Sterling  Mertesacker last night, for last transfer.

Rationale: not sure how much Liverpool are going to want to field a man who doesn't want to play for them. Needed Arsenal defensive coverage to counter Woolster's Koscielny, so, being behind, went for someone different.

Now, on the basis of surprise points from Van Aanholt, have crept into safety, but I reckon next Sunday's games may well decide the relegation position. If Aguero goes on a tear, I'm toast.
